Hi gpr. You have our old, old manager. You seem to have some decent players (apart from Lee Novak who i think is a league above his ability level). Best wishes for the season (apart from against the mighty Terriers, of course).

Yes , Agree about Novak , he is out of his depth , hoping he will come good ....... But I don't think it's going to happen !

Unbelieveably a Spurs fan was arrested today for using the word 'yid'. What a wonderful use of police time. I wonder if they'll be dragging out all the opposing teams' fans that imitate the sounds of the Nazis' gas ovens.

A Millwall fan was arrested a couple of years ago At Gillingham for shouting about 'Pikeys'

Apparantly 'pikey' is now considered a race and they guy was charged with racism.

It went all the way to court but he was found not guilty when he produced in evidence, t-shirts with 'Gillingham Pikey Army' on them.

Again, what a total waste of time & money.

Sorry -- welcome gpr1960 -- Gonna be a long season for you guys -- You'd be very welcome in League One

So, Mad Dog Martin Alllen's tenure at GFC has been bought to an abrupt end by Chairman Scally

It cannot be for footballing reasons so my assumption is 'when egos clash'

While admiting that Allen is not everyones cup of tea, he was certainly a man of the fans and was generally very well liked.

I'm sure that he will land another job quickly, probably in League Two

Bookies favourite is a return of Peter Taylor

In sure that Foxy is not a massive fan of him, but to be fair, he lead us to the Championship in his previous time there.
All be it with a much better team than we have at the present

Never a dull moment being a Gillingham fan

I see we entertain Romig's Terriers tomorrow. I wonder if they will be as generous as they were against Mob's Zolacoasters or whether Schmeichel will gift them 3 points as he did against their Yorkshire friends. Anything can happen tomorrow but we need three points if we are going to keep up with the leading pack.

We entertain the Wallys with their Brollys ( Baaa ) but we have a few forced changes, inc Deeney it seems, so the game could go either way with the mighty Rams who will doubtless be aiming to impress their new Manager .... but we, like those Foxes, need the three points.

A good win for us today but after outplaying Romig's Terriers in the first half we were hanging on at times in the second. Even after Vaughan got sent off the points didn't feel secure. However with QPR and Florist dropping points it's not been a bad day for us.

Not so good for Barney's Gillingham going down 2-1 to Preston although Frank will be happy with Luton's 4-3 win.

As for the Mob's Zolacoasters against the sheep....................... Nuff said :(

  You said that last season!!

BTW thanks for the 3 points you donated to our promotion pot when we visited the Sheep at the sheep dip this year.

I must say though that young Will Hughes is a promising prospect. There was a little lad playing for Huddersfield yesterday who caught the eye too.

Did anybody see the Jack Wilshere goal on Match of the Day. Absolutely brilliant!! He's another young starlet.

Another good win for the Foxes so I will be a happy bunny tonight!!!
We seem to have learnt a lot from missing out on promotion last year but we always seem to make hard work of it - too many silly free kicks given away and too many chances missed. However a win's a win so mustn't grumble. It'll do me.

Romig will be pleased with the Terriers win against their 'friends' just down the road but another poor win for Barney's Gills. :(

a draw for the Mighty Rams
should have done much more, we had most of the possession and more shots on goal
plenty of yellow cards for the scutters

Another good reason for goal line technology as Mob's Zolacoasters are robbed of two points. The technology exists so why not use it?

Meanwhile a cracking match at the King Power tonight. It's been a real ding-dong battle for the full 90 minutes against Fulham of the Prem. Finished 4-3.

Now for the Zolacoasters on Saturday!!!

Barney,

Looks like you will get a win in the FA cup. Brackley Town are my local side.

I wouldn't guarantee that RB :D

Over the last couple of seasons we've manged to lose to Burscough & Dover in the cup.
Both obviously quite a few divisions below us.

Having said that, we've also taken some pretty big scalps ourselves so I suppose it swings both ways.

I don't miss many games but I will be bobbing around in the Med on the Oriana when this takes place.

Best of luck to you and may the best team on the day win.

Blimey Foxy, that's a great result. Since we only lost 1-0, to your lot, does that make us better than Watford?
