the third time this year its about time the sorted it my PC needed to be rebooted my cooker clock needed to be reset the alarm went off boy oh boy what a lot of wingers
I watched those poor people in the Philippines and thought maybe we should round up those wingers and sit them in front of a TV and say you think you got problems

Re: Moaners
We had two power cuts, surges actually, in very quick succession last year and it cost me a sound card, a monitor and two 6 gang surge protecters.
Did I moan about it ... bloody right I did

Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I feel for the crews of the ships many many of whom are philippino and will have family at home whom they cannot contact. Especially the crews on cargo ships with no wifi or radio telelphone connection for the crew.
You are so right HaB.

Hi Dave,
I would agree 5 minutes dose seem to fall into insignificance compared with what others have to endure.
However playing devil’s advocate, whether it is 5 minutes or 5 hours, resetting different household appliances can be a real pain for those who are less mobile, short sighted or not digitally aware.
Regards
Keith

I pay a lot of money for my electricity. Power cuts are not acceptable.

You only pay for the electricity that you use therefore a power cut is saving you moneyQuizzical Bob wrote:I pay a lot of money for my electricity. Power cuts are not acceptable.

Re: Moaners
Better get used to them!! You can not guarantee anything, and they could become more frequent.

I would have used my hamster but he died of a terrible accident. He fell asleep at the wheel.

I can't remember the last time we had a power cut .. definitely not in the last 13 years ... there was a power out at our old address somewhere in the mid 90's but that was due to essential maintenance and we were informed about it 4 weeks in advance ... still didn't stop a load of moaners going off on one though.
I remember the ones in the 70's though. My dad and the neighbours clubbed together and just bought and butchered a cow, a couple of hoggets and a pig and split it between them so the freezers were full .. then the power strikes came ... we were having lamb chops for breakfast, fillet of pork for mid day snack, and fillet steaks for dinner (my dad thought it better to eat the stuff than let it go to waste.

Indeed Robbie, but can you imagine how frustrating it is for me having to wait for them to come home.

My old boss used to refer to powercuts as 'baby making nights'

If that were true we'd have had five or six kids a year.Kendhni wrote:My old boss used to refer to powercuts as 'baby making nights'
