It's all relative isn't it ? To us in our privileged lives a power cut seems a disaster whereas for those in other countries it's having no food or water or house ! I suppose we all moan about a little inconvenience but I try to remember we are so lucky really. We did have a power cut a few years ago on Christmas Day ! Just as I was cooking the dinner, - that did try my patience a little !

Have not got time for the moaners after a weather related incident, I tend to think about all the crews out there in all weathers trying their damnedest to repair /reconnect the problems as quickly as possible after having been an emergency out of hours engineer myself. The conditions some of the crews work in are nearly impossible but they carry on, myself, the worst stint I did was a 72 hour non stop shift during a storm in the 1980s.

If that were indeed the case then I wouldn't moan but we are in a densely populated area between Southampton and Winchester and we get several power cuts a year.

I have several computers and a business to try and run. It's no joke. Perhaps you should try it?

I also work from home and have 2 computers on the go plus managing a multi million pound business sector
So you are far from unique
best get some candles in and a spare battery for your mobile, you know just in case the world ends
