Bournemouth next Tuesday 19th

Unread post by Frank Manning »

If you are in the Bournemouth Poole Christchurch area next Tuesday, do come along to the Ocean View Hotel on East Overcliff Drive where you can get to meet me and some fellow cruisers between 10.00am and 12.00. We are holding a Coffee Morning and Fair (£2 for coffee and biscuit) in the hotel, for Mission to Seafarers.

We would love to meet you.

What a lovely opportunity for anyone living close by.

I hope you get lots of visitors and hope that the financial response adds a substantial amount to a worthy cause.

Sue is making cakes; 6 produced so far. I am sorting books and our conservatory is in chaos. Never mind it is as you say, a good cause.

Good luck with your fundraising Frank. I'm sorry I won't be able to join you but if you could pay a visit to the Workington Seafaring Mission (the building's there but not even sure whether it is still 'active') I'd be delighted to pop along and support you.
I would have loved to be there and hope you and Sue have a fruitful day.

We made a profit for the Mission to Seafarers after expenses, of over £1600 on the day. Very rewarding.

I bought one of Sue's Lemon Drizzle cakes myself ( Only way to get round Sue's ban on biscuits and cakes), and it was gone by last evening.

The people at Ocean View Hotel were marvellous, and made special biscuits/cookies for us. There were two large parties staying in the hotel and they came in and spent money too. We were really pleased with the outcome, and our "ancients" are already raring to go for another one next year. Sue has a big birthday on 6th Dec with a 7 in the number, and she is the youngest on our local committee, so you can tell how ancient we all are.
