Hi Jo,

So - 5 sleeps eh? Off somewhere nice - hope so; and I reckon you'll be heading somewhere warm and lovely.

Have a wonderful trip.

Thank you Em, I certainly hope so :D

Just looking forward to doing absolutely nothing except putting my 'glad rags' on and enjoying myself with someone else doing all the hard work

Not that I'm aware of Helen but who knows, we nearly were last Xmas.

Funnily enough I was hoping to be on the last one she was on ( or the one I think she was on ) but because of family circumstances we haven't been able to plan much in advance this year and I missed out on it :( :(

Not quite Jo ;)

All our cards have been posted and only 2 more presents to buy.

We have received quite a few cards but they will go up nearer Christmas. The Christmas Tree will be decorated next weekend, all being well.

Feeling Christmassy after spending all day yesterday as Mrs Claus in the Grotto at the museum where I work ... get to do it all again next Saturday, too. Other than that, I've done hardly anything yet! Some presents still to buy, cards still to write, tree to get and decorate (although the crib scene is out). Haven't given food a thought yet
I remember being in this situation this time last year too and just about managed to get everything done. It gets to the point where what hasn't been done doesn't really matter

It certainly is Jo. To add to the pressure Michael was smacked on the shoulder by a Customer's wooden gate in the gales on Thursday and unable to work. Has been to Drs and had X-ray. Our good luck just continues

It's beginning to look like Christmas.

If not I hope that a children's Nativity will put you in the mood - Mary, Joseph, shepherds and an angel singing sweetly......................

Haha - indeed David. I used to be very organised, but these days I seem to get so busy at this time of year with work and other commitments that I just have to take everything one day at a time!

I went to my Grandaughter's Nativity Play last week - she (aged 4) was a very composed shepherd who knew all the carols and the actions. There were of course the scene stealers: one of the shepherds lost his trousers and was quickly taken out by a teacher but came back fully trousered and happy. Then one of the staff was edging between the forms trying to help one child when she slipped off the form (the teacher) and fell rather painfully looking onto the floor - then the child who was Mary picked up Mary's chair and took it towards the teacher! She was helping! It's very difficult sometimes not to laugh out loud - one of the little stars who was enveloped by a lovely gold star outfit, lost the face hole he was supposed to see out of and got very confused and tearful. There was some lovely singing and altogether it was a brilliant start to Christmas and a reminder of what it's all about!

Golf - a good walk spoiled. A game invented by the Scots, a race who believe music comes from bagpipes

I'm more in the mood for the Tran Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve And Other Stories, The Christmas Attic and The Last Christmas Eve.

Carols on the Green tonight (provided it doesn't get rained off) - our church's annual event on the village green. They reckon over 800 people came last year.

A small group of staff (Inspired by Gareth Malone no doubt) were singing supposed carols in the foyer of our local Sainsburys this morning.... bring back the Sally Ann I say!!

We drove up to a garden centre in Wendover to meet my brother yesterday. The car park was packed to capacity, and it was heaving with people and one big consumer orgy of Christmas. Rather off putting.
If I hear 'Little donkey' sung out of tune one more time I shall scream! Ba humbug!

Is that the centre on the road out towards Aylesbury, near the turn-off for Stoke Mandeville? That was cracking at Christmas!
