I shall miss the final too, I'm in hospital having my knee resurfaced. Had a total knee replacement 3 years ago, but that doesn't include doing anything with the knee cap, so now I have to go back and have it resurfaced! That's my Christmas sorted, but I'm more gutted to be missing Strictly final.

They do have TV's in hospital Dee, unless of course your having it done the back street method ;)
Not this hospital, well not in the ward, there's a day room I think, with a tv in it but I won't be allowed out of bed until after all my drips and drains are out and this won't be until after Strictly has been on. Only having my op on the 20th. I know I can record it but once you know who's won it's not the same. :(

As it's Christmas Dee, go mad and spend £50! and watch the final via the TV that is normally on the end of a ceiling beam at the end of your bed.

Hope the op goes well

No TV's, I was in the same hospital when I had my TKR and They don't have them like the bigger hospitals. It's Barlborough Orthopedic, all they do are hips knees etc. I didn't get to watch anything when I was in last time because I wasn't allowed to go to the day room, so not sure if there's even a TV in there.
Thanks for the good wishes.

Deefitz, Good luck with the op. It sounds like you will be having a very restful Xmas . You will be taking the 'get your feet up' as a right.

Are you not able to watch TV on your mobile phone ?. If is useful if you really don't want to miss something although some hospitals have a bad signal.

I could watch it on my phone but I don't have many gigs to play with on my contract, only 1GB and I don't think that would be enough to watch all of strictly.
I have my IPad but then I would have to get mifi and then the signal could be rubbish.

Would be OK if the hospital had wifi, they didn't last I was there in 2010.

I will be having a restful 6 weeks apart for the physio.

Deefitz, I was wondering if it was Barlborough. My SIL was in a few weeks ago for a knee replacement and I asked her if she had been watching TV. I was surprised that there weren't any on the Wards.

Whatever, I hope all goes well for you

Thank you Jean W.

It's a lovely hospital and I hope your SIL knee replacement works better than mine. :)

Sorry, don't understand a word. I still use PAYG, topping up £10pa!, and my laptop for everything else. ;)

Darkestwithoutaheart

I’ve barely enough power to send this message as the electricity firm have cut our power back to a trickle until I can come up with the rest of the money for the electricity repair. My daughter is doing her homework by candle light and the dog hasn’t eaten for three days...If Patrick doesn’t win we’re all done for...by the way do you know where I can buy cheap cans of pedigree chum ... the cheaper brands are giving us all the trots.

If there is anyone who dislikes “Darkestwithoutaheart” as much as I do then Vote Patrick... especially if you want to see him crawling around at my feet with his little pinkie between his legs?

Gota be worth a vote don’t you think?

As I will be visiting friends in your lovely village tomorrow, would you like me to make up a food parcel with pouches of tasty Felix and Sheba? My cats thoroughly recommend these brands and are quite prepared to sacrifice a few pouches to help those in need. PS. I love Suzanna but don't thing she will win.......dare I say....I doubt if Patrick will either ..... I think Mrs Crouch is destined to lift the trophy.

Hello Shirley,

When times get tough you always find out who your true friends are...the others just want you to disappear to the other side of the world.

Although desperate we’re not fish eaters so any chance of dropping money off instead? If I’m out just leave it with “Stephen” our butler.

When things turn the corner I shall remember your generosity by taking you out for lunch...perhaps at the Fish?

Thank you dear friend and neighbour :)

Regards

Keith

Oh how lovely, I love Fish .....and to dine at The Fish with a true gent like yourself would indeed be an honour.
PS. I haven't got any money left. Spent it all on Christmas presents, so will be unable to leave cash with the butler.
With all good wishes
Shirley

don't be taken in, Onelfie is a well known lothario, who fleeces people, in order to fund his gambling addiction and pleads poverty and destitution at every turn
he is well known to the local police and his file goes under the title of "Keefy ,couldn't pick the winner in a one horse race ,Cheese-eater
he will promise you chocolates and all manner of enticements, until he has emptied your bank account and will be off scamming some other nice lady before you can say "and the winner is Abby"

please tread carefully

Dear DK
Thank you for your concern. As the saying goes here in the Vale of Evesham, "I am not so green as I am cabbage looking"!!
Careful is my middle name.

Hello Shirley,

I can’t tell you how much hurt I’m feeling at the moment...I think It was your comment about cabbages that really upset me....I just want you to know, I love cabbages, especially those that come from the Vale of Evesham. ...honest!!

I won’t deny that there is some truth in what DK has alluded too but as this is now in my solicitor’s hands I feel it best that I say nothing... which could be used against me!

Shirley...do you honestly think Onelife, (you can call me Keith) would stoop to the level of a sewer rat? ...Squeak squeak!

I can only ask that you consider the evidence before you...you will be aware that the DarkestOne had to make a quick exit from his former place of employment...not sure, but I did here rumours that it had something to do with inappropriate behaviour with one of his bosses family pets :sarcasm: Apparently this nocturnal activity had been going on for some time.... always accompanied by the same song which apparently went something like ...”hey! ho away we go, donkey riding, donkey riding, hey ho away.....

So Shirley if you are looking for a “cowboy” my advice would be to look no further than he who goes by the name of DarkestOne

Regards

Keith aka (butter wouldn’t melt in my mouth cheese eater) and..

Boys! Boys! Please! Calm down! Do remember the title of this topic. With only two more programmes to go, let's concentrate on the important matter of the winner. May the best man....or woman win!
I'm off to Evesham now to do my shopping (including a cabbage)!
Keith, make sure those decorations look good for this afternoon.

The one with the red car on the block paved drive and lights in a small tree to the left of the garage? I love google earth!
Very kind invitation, thanks a lot, but I will probably have had enough tea at my friend's house. Another time perhaps. ;)

Yes, I saw everything from the aerial view. I came past in daylight at 2.30, then at 4.45 I put on my dark glasses and prepared myself for the journey past in the dark. I was absolutely dazzled by the beauty of your wonderful display, and, in the best possible taste, of course....unlike some garish displays I saw on the outskirts of your lovely village. I will be visitng with my friends in the New Year when we are planning our own little slimming world group. We are looking for an independent person to supervise weighing sessions. Need I say more........!!??
Have a wonderful Christmas and May the best person win on SCD.
