I am not criticizing hospitals.... every time I've had to use one they have been excellent!

It's the doctors surgery that is giving me pain rather than curing it!

It's not even the doctors - its the people they employ who think their doctors are gods to be worshipped rather than well paid people employed to provide a service to the public.

we have batch prescriptions they last six months dont even have to collect them the chemist deliver them when they are due to be renewed they inform me and i ring the Drs they issue a new batch and if we are going away we phone the chemist and they drop them off every year we have a medication revue with the Dr if we dont go they stop the medication

Nothing surprises me with the nhs nowadays,we have recently changed our doctor due to the previous doctors and receptionists attitudes.getting past the receptionists was in some way an achievement as they bombard you with questions that have none or little meaning,then on top of this you phone for a repeat prescription at 10.45am to get the answering machine telling you that the prescription line does not open until 10.30am.....I give in!

Did you not pass your ticket on to somebody parking up who may have been less fortunate? (Good deed for the day and all that)

There is an interesting law on that one ... it is usually included in the T&C of the parking. While it is not illegal to pass a ticket to someone it is, in many car parks, illegal for the person to then use that ticket. Why? I have no idea, someone has paid for a space for a period of time so they should be able to use it as they see fit.

Cockers, I don't think your experience is unique with our wonderful NHS.

I am fortunate enough to get private health care with my job. Often the treatment is carried out on NHS premises, using the same NHS staff and NHS facilities but the service is like chalk-and-cheese (and you get bumped up to the front of the waiting list when you pay their 'bribes'). Sadly however that does not extend to our local doctors surgery where you have to plan your illnesses at least 3 weeks in advance.

In fact the surgery receptionist has told me that there are a couple of patients who make appointments for every Monday morning and then if they are feeling OK they send an email to cancel them that morning.

There seems to be a growing trend that you have to enter part of your registration number, which is then printed on the ticket, when parking in order to prevent the passing on of tickets - unless there are two vehicles with the same three characters.
