Re: Holiday insurance
Watch out for these "annual multi-trip" policies - some have a clause that, if you make a claim, you're no longer covered for the rest of the year. It's several years since I was in the TA game, so can't remember the ins and outs of it, but best to go through the wording of your planned policy with a very fine-tooth comb.

Didn't realise you had Crohns Disease, why would I. A friend of my has it and he really suffers. In future, I shall read your posts with a different mindset.

Sir Dark Knight,
Not teeing up an argument, but I am just trying , in my own mind, to justify the tone of some of your posts. This excellent forum promotes itself as " The friendly cruise forum" and yet some of your comments are pretty charmless regarding various sectors of society. My pal who is afflicted with the same medical issue, is a delightful chap, however the illness can impact on his level of, shall we say, friendliness.

Hi Jonty,
Is your post a follow on from a previous thread as I can’t make head or tail of your comment...”Why would I” From what I can see “on this thread” Dk hasn’t asked you why you should have known anything in connection with his Corhn’s disease?
As for your other concerns about DK I can only say this....Yes he is outspoken and dose at time ruffle a few feathers but taking everything into consideration I would much rather enter into forum chat/debate with someone who tells it how he sees it, even with his forthright approach. What I have witnessed is his willingness to concede and apologise when he gets it wrong. (Which is quite often when in debate with me) but please don’t tell him I’ve said that
We all come to this forum with different personality’s styles and humour and in my opinion the forum is all the better for it...indeed I would encourage more members to get involved as I can assure them there’s no one on this forum who is immune from getting a ticking off from other members should they cross that line.
(How the bloody hell I’ve got away with it for so long I haven’t a clue)
Regards
OL

Greetings to I.O.M.
Greetings to Onelife.
Because I have a knackered old computer, used by a knackered old me, have struggled with the private message and smilies options; hence the public comment.
Joining the forum it seemed logical to peruse many of the done and dusted topics, this is when impressions are formed. Whilst you know nobody you begin to feel you do. I really do enjoy the harmless banter between many posters, including DK. Nevertheless there have been comments on quite emotive topics which push my internal cringe button; they have stuck my head. When seeing the holiday insurance post had a light bulb moment, however maybe I'm still in the dark.
Fin!
Merry Christmas to all our readers!

Jomty
worry not
I am a bit forthright and do tend to be a bit brusque
but it is just me
Cheesy one: you have got away with nothing, we just feel sorry for you, so give you more latitude than others

Hey Darkestknightmare....I don’t know why you’re surprised I’ve dedicated my life to being kind considerate and thoughtful to others....in fact I’ve heard a rumour that all my efforts are going to be rewarded in the New Years Honours list...not too sure which one it will be but I’m sure my dear friends on this forum could come up with a few suggestions....

Please don't worry. There are plenty of times I've wanted to give Sir Dark a good slap. I just didn't want you feeling sorry for him .He takes no prisoners.
Please feel free to call me MJ, until we know each other better. It's good to have you onboard.

Sounds like you've got yourself a good deal there DK.
For the record, I think you're a cantankerous old beggar, Crohns or not!
