Graham and his beloved Tivoli Theatre.

Unread post by Onelife »

Good afternoon gfw aka (Graham),

Graham, it has been brought to my attention that you are soon to be leaving your beloved Tivoli Theatre. (If it wasn’t for the fact that a friend hadn’t got so much on her plate at the moment it would have been she who would be sending you this message)... However in her absence she has asked me to mention what I’m sure for you is a milestone tinged with both sadness but also filled with many happy memories.

I’ve just spent a few minutes reading through some of the lovely reviews about the Tivoli theatre and had no idea the theatre was totally run by dedicated volunteers...this in itself is something to be very proud of, but also an acknowledgement of what can be achieved when a bunch of selfless volunteers give freely of their time in the pursuit of stopping another theatre going the same way as many before her.

I’m sure all your friends on this forum will join me in wishing you many more years enjoying what you have enabled others to enjoy...but hopefully from a far more comfortable seating position :)

Oh, and I’m sure it is your Birthday sometime around now? So just in case I get stuck down someone’s chimney Happy Birthday for ? Graham.

Best wishes

Keith

Every word you say is true. The Tivoli is a lovely little theatre, we go there often, and know another of the volunteers. I have had the pleasure of booking tickets at the box office and thus have met Graham, who is every bit as nice as we all think he is. Prior to the loss of his beloved wife, he often graced one or another of the restaurant/cafe attractions of the lovely lttle town of Wimborne. Chin up Graham, you are a star, and we want you to stay that way.

Hi Graham,

I really wanted to be able to 'drop in' this month - but everything conspired against me and it was just impossible.

You will no doubt look back on all your time at the Tivoli with very fond memories, the more so because you put in great effort and did so with gladness.

More importantly, if you are celebrating an 'anniversary of date of manufacture' this month - have a right merry old time, and don't forget your ferrets!

I think it's wonderful that you have given up so much of your time this way. I'm sure you'll miss it but you deserve a rest. Very best wishes for the future.

Graham
From one volunteer to another, I an sure that despite your retirement you will still be there to serve your community and share that wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Well done! and what a pity more don't realise what a rewarding experience giving time as a volunteer can be.

Best Regards

Ray
