How are we all this fine Christmas Eve. All safe and sound I hope with no damage to your property. My upright cloche took a bit of a bashing with several plastic pots strewn around the garden. The neighbour over the back lost a fence panel which he is currently replacing. Other than that all is fine.

I feel sorry for anyone that got flooded last night. You don't need it at any time of the year, but particularly not at Christmas.

What's so different about having wind at Christmas? Have you never heard of sprouts or nuclear stuffing?

I spoke to my boss this morning and he lives in Southampton where it was worse than the last gale in his opinion. Fortunately for us oop north in the Hull area, it wasn't too bad last night. My plastic greenhouse and a patio chair blew over but I'm not picking them up because they'll only blow over again later.

It's still blowing a gale over here. Fortunately everything seems fine at the moment. I feel very sorry for anyone trying to get on or off the island at the moment. The boat has been cancelled yet again. I agree it must be devastating to be flooded especially at this time of year.

We’re all fine here in leafy Worcestershire/Warwickshire nothing to report in the way of damage but my garden table has moves about a foot from its original position. Watched the reports about houses being flooded last night.... never experienced this myself but can imagine how devastating it must be for those who have. Apparently we’ve got further storms on the way tonight.
Anyway, sorry for repeating myself but have a good un Buddy.
