Frank

If you'd like to pop round I can store all your Harrods food in our SPARE fridge. Can't promise it'll be there tomorrow though.

Our ham is for Boxing Day - we have my husband's two brothers and wives coming plus two other friends. As I'm cooking on Christmas Day the meal on Boxing Day will be a cold one apart from jacket potatoes - so cold turkey, ham, game pie, coleslaw, various pickles oh and Nigella's pickled peaches which are so easy and very tasty. I didn't want to try to cook a ham tomorrow as well as everything else that has to go into the oven. Now all is quiet and it will soon be Christmas Day - have a wonderful time everyone.

Well we managed it. Though it was a hectic last 30 minutes roasting the glazing on the ham and simultaneously glazing carrots and cooking sprouts with bacon and chestnuts.

Far too many sprouts, I reckon we got through half of them, one demerit for me. Carrots glazed with butter brown sugar and the juice of an orange were lovely. Our daughter's 'in laws' bought me a superb book on cruising. I think Mr P&O might be seeing us next year!

We are in a state of collapse now!

I accidentally dropped an Avo from the foremast of one ship I was on...the company were not happy! I bought one as soon as I came ashore. They were brilliant...still going strong.

Fridge working fine now. Rest day for me today...I hope.

We only have Tesco over here who deliver. Last year they cancelled my Christmas order a few days before it was about to be delivered. A system error I was told when I phoned to complain. The next available slot was after Christmas, not a lot of use. I had been a regular customer for some years but I won't shop with them at all now. I get everything I need from the local supermarket and anything they don't stock (such as Flash Bathroom) I order online.
We pre-ordered a fresh turkey from the local supermarket and it's absolutely lovely.
