Re: New Years Eve plans
A quiet night in for Sue and me, and probably an early night, but tomorrow we go to see our Grandson, in his final performance in Panto (and the last of the Panto)

Re: New Years Eve plans
Dear Forumeers,
I am going to get HAMMERED at a party hosted by my best chum, Tim the second best plumber in Hull. We are being picked up at 8pm and will be staggering home at circa 3am. Last year we were entertained on the walk home by Simon the very drunk Newsagent who gave us a thirty minute rendition of "we wish you a Merry Christmas" which consisted of him singing the same six words over and over. Then we are up at 9ish tomorrow for a champagne breakfast at 10am with the same chums at a local hostelry.
If I can get a taxi at midnight I'm off round to Soiled Nighties house to let off some fireworks in his front garden.
HO HO HO
Happy New Year to you all.
Regards
Rob aka AOTH

Don't bother we will have gone to bed long before that and I doubt the police would be happy when I ring them to report a burglary in the street, only to find an aged Chav, skulking about with a carrier bag full of cheap knock off fireworks

Good morning Alan, we hope you are well and wish you a very happy 2014.
Our neighbourly (not) students came back from Christmas holidays early so that they could have a party. Bless!

Thank you, Frank, and here's to a good year for you and yours.
Someone nearby let of a string of firecrackers or something outside around midnight - sounded like a machine gun going off
The rain didn't seem to stop the fireworks around here. I felt sorry for little children and animals, who would not understand what the racket was all about. The party animal next door has moved out and the house is empty, so fortunately we had peace and quiet from that quarter.

Good morning Keith.
In "dirty stop-out" mode, last night, were you?
I had no trouble finding my bed last night. I had tremendous trouble getting to sleep, though, despite two glasses of Merlot and a Nytol
Still, back to normal tomorrow
Here's hoping for a good year for you and yours, and a speedy recovery to full health for your dear lady.

Re: New Years Eve plans
A nice quiet evening at home watching Mrs Browns boys and re-runs of Lovejoy, along with the odd glass of red and a brandy. Got woken just after midnight by some distant fireworks which only lasted about 15min and then all was quiet. So all in all a pleasant evening and early New Year.
Christmas is now over in this household with all decorations and lights now down and the tree put outside waiting to be planted in the out-laws garden at some point. The lounge now looks twice it's original size
Happy New Year All

Re: New Years Eve plans
We went out with friends for lunch yesterday, then back to theirs for a couple of hours before coming back here for the last two or three hours. It was a different way for us to celebrate but actually worked really well.
We then spent half the night
watching John Bishop on TV. Shattered now!
We then spent half the night

Re: New Years Eve plans
Had a really good meal at friends' house, stayed the night. Had a wonderful breakfast of carved ham and poached egg sat in a conservatory with the rain pouring on the glass! We then ventured down the A32 back home and splashed through lots of water, various fallen trees had been cleared thank goodness. The deepest water we went through was, according to my husband, around 6 inches - not a lot but it felt a lot! There was a mini coming the other way waiting to go through but don't know how it got on.
Then on New Year's Eve sat by the fire. I'd heard there was a possibility that the bookable seats for our March cruise might come on to the Cruise Personaliser on 2nd so I managed to stay awake and I went online just after midnight and there they were. I managed to book a window and an aisle seat so was very happy. Went to bed and slept till nearly 9 the next morning!
