Good morning fellow dieters,

I know I shouldn't have weighed in until tomorrow but just had to as going out today and didn't want to get disillusioned if I had not lost anything.

The Good news is that I had set myself a target of 3lb loss this week and I have lost 4 lb. That plus the 4 1/2 lb from last week means a massive 8 1/2 lb loss since the New Year and only 5lbs to go to target. Still got 2 1/2 weeks to achieve that in.

I am pleased I weighed in today as I now have no intention of pigging out today. I want to be the same weight at the official weigh in tomorrow.

Good luck all. Remember A moment on lips could be a lifetime on the hips. Lol.

Well Sue is definitely going to be the biggest loser I think. Anyhow I'm relieved not to be getting the wooden spoon, I think you've made the right choice Keith, DK is without doubt the biggest stirrer.

By the way, unfortunately I have neither lost or gained anything this week…. not bad saying that I have stayed indoors and not done much exercise. Must do better next week.

Hi Frank, long time no see. Hope you are both ok…

Love Jack xx

well, despite half a bootle of red wine on Friday night, a goodly slice of Christmas cake yesterday and two large ham rolls, presented to me by my SIL (so it would have been rude to refuse them), I have lost two pounds since last Sunday. I've been walking a bit more, too (walked up to the town centre twice yesterday, so that's a good four miles in total. I'm debating going swimming, but at £3.85 a pop, not sure if the finances will stand that.

The Lady C has bought "The Hairy Dieters Cook Book", so we are going to make our way through that.

I have only lost one pound. I think it would have been more if it hadn't been for last night when friends came round with a bottle of wine and chocolates and by the end of the evening we had drunk 2 bottles of wine, a load of mixed nuts and lots of chocolates. It was a good evening but not good for the diet. Will start again today. Well done to all those who have lost weight.

Kenmo, you are supposed to lose one to two pounds a week. You are still on target. Don't be hard on yourself.

We usually have friends round on a Saturday night and I always find my weight has gone up on Sunday morning which I blame on the wine. I don't drink normally, just 2 glasses on a Saturday night. I don't want to give everything up for this diet so, like you said, it will have to be a steady 1lb each week if possible. Thanks for your encouragement. Maureen.

The meal out yesterday went reasonably well. I ended up having a crayfish salad followed by a grilled Tuna steak with vegetables. I had one small slice of cheesy garlic bread which was very naughty and too much red wine and bubbly.

That is it now. No more meals out planned until our cruise so should be able to stick to it now.

The damage this morning was 1/2 lb on from yesterday but still on target.

Well done all the losers.

Sue

If you have one bad day, or eat late evening then cut down the next day, the scales will reflect it, and its the over all trend which is important as Alan says. Chocs and nuts are some of the worst thing when snacked as nibbles. 1 to 2 lbs loss average perweek is fine, it took me 16 weeks to get from 220lbs down to 198lbs, and I didn't go without 3 proper meals a day. The first few days, (and the first plateau) are the worst times, after that yourr body starts to accept the new regime and you begin to feel better for it. Go for it!!

Good morning Pinch-an-Inchers,

It is with a heavy heart and even heavier tummy that I have to confess to being a very naughty boy last night; this has resulted in me gaining an extra lb onto what would have been an otherwise 4 lb lose for the week.

Who would have though a 12 ounce sirloin steak with all the trimming plus copious amounts of beer wine and champagne would have scuppered my chances of picking up the coveted celery stick?
I’ll get back later to announce the winner of this week’s coveted celery stick...I just need to let my head clear and get a couple of paracetomol down my neck as I’m feeling rather delicate at the moment.

Perhaps the entry called 'Excess Baggage' would have been a more appropriate heading for this topic.
