lf it's good for one.......
Should all public sector workers e.g teachers, police, firemen etc pay to park their cars at their place of work?
The reason l ask is that my wife has to fork out over two hundred pounds a year for this privilege. Is it fair that one section of public sector workers have to pay while other public sector workers can park their cars free of charge?
Opinions?
Regards

Yes ... like wot the majority of the private sector workers do.
It should be noted also that the Public Sector Trade Unions and supporting Labour Members of Parliament advocated that everybody should go to work by bus so it seems to me only fair that the Public Sector workers should set the example by doing just that.

If it is a car park in which you would normally pay then I cannot see the issue - if you do not pay then it will be treated as a "benefit in kind" and you will be taxed on it.

Bad grammar there, Moby, it should be "like wot the majority of the private sectors workers does"
Seriously, though, not everyone can catch a bus as there is no service. If the Lady C caught the first bus to her place of work, she'd be an hour late for duty.
David, I understand that "benefit in kind" only applies if there are marked spaces on the ground.

Should have added that they should ALL pay rather than just some of them as, in this way, some income at least will be earned on land that could otherwise be sold off for development.
ps ... could it not be " like wot the majority of the private sectors workers does do " ?
