The crowd probably reflected the fact that Palace aren't a big draw. Sorry Paul.

John, unfortunately there are no points for "winning on points". Goals are what count.

United have done what they do...win when playing poorly. :(

It's too easy Romig.

Football nowadays is a business and players' wages are out of control, especially when they do nothing for them. Have we really got to take him back?

Draw in the cup where we out played the Foxes, and now a win against 5th in league. Should we appoint Mark Lillis full time, or maybe just keep him on as caretaker to end of season?

Our temporary manager has condensed the team by playing a midfield diamond with no wide players. Leaves us short of options when we wanting to attack, but has helped us become more solid, which after 12 games without a win was what we needed. Puts a lot of responsibility on our two young full-backs, who did really well tonight against two very tricky opponents.

We won't score loads of goals, but so long as it's "nil" to the opposition, then we have a chance to get 3 points.

Towny, I think that the stability that Lillis has brought means that the club can take it's time in finding the right man. I doubt he will be in with a shout for the position long term, and it also makes sense to get a new manager this season who can assess the team ready to build for next season.

I doubt an appointment will be made until after the weekend at the earliest.

Apparently we suffered yet another very bad referee....a real 'homer' who feels sorry for small clubs who have just sacked their manager (again) like 'Uddersfield.....Yet again Wilf was kicked up in air by dirty northern bar steward and received no protection fron the man with the whistle.

We suffered new manager syndrome and also ex-player scores winning goal against old team syndrome....A team that when he played for them he was coplete crap for and wouldn't have been able to score in a brothel when wearing their colours, ie James Vaughan.

Huddersfield's team is almost entirely made up of ex Crystal Palace players, all of whom put in an extra effort against their former employers.

Plus - We ain't as good as we thought we were but it was nice being top for a few days....Where we belonged, naturally.

Paul, if you read any of the fan's views around here, you'll see that there was also a large amount of dissatisfaction with the referee last night from our point of view.

IMO when both teams feel aggrieved by the ref then it means two things.

1) The ref was in fact pants
2) The bad decisions evened themselves out.

Re last nights attendance...Huddersfield Town v Palace....(what Palace lost 'cause we always get crap refs)

The crowd was in fact more than 1500 higher than Huddersfield's previous home fixture v Leicester City...So the Palace were a more attractive attraction than the Foxes.

Having said that, Huddersfield gates are well down in 2013 compared to last year. Their low attendances correspond with them going 13 matches without a win (a sequence broken after last nights match, when, because of one of the worse referee performances I have never seen, they won 1-0).....I believe that Huddersfield's falling attendance says more about their fickle support, they only sing when they are winning, than it does about their opposiition.

Just been on Sky News.........Watford have been stopped from signing any more loan players......Udinese and Malaga have cancelled their next few fixtures due to the fact that they have both run out of players.....They are all at Watford.

 ... it's good to see you laughing Paul, enjoy it while you can I say ;)

Sounds to me like the Palace players, and maybe their fan, are starting to feel the pressure as the tide is now starting to flow against them.

Re the 8th, it will actually be quite interesting to see how young Wilf copes with a couple of ' seasoned ' International Italian defenders ... ouch 8-)

About the 8th.....I might have said on here that I wasn't going due to the fact that the game has been moved to the Friday night for live television coverage on Sky...well I lied.

Well, not lied exactly but I am going now....I should finish work at 4:15 pm and my mate is going to pick me up and we are driving straight up to Watford....Me friend reckons we should make it quite comfortably even on a Friday night...So I am going...

Can't wait...I would have missed my annual trip to Vicarage Road....Apparently Palace have sold their allocation of tickets so us Eagles will be out in force..Should make for a blinding atmosphere.

I'm also really looking forward to it but will be watching it, with friends, on Sky.

Could be a tribute to the Championship if both teams play to their maximum capability ... and we get the right result of course 8-)

2-1 and Foxy's a happy chappy tonight!!

Two quality goals from Knockaert and Nugent, a rasping drive by the Wolves lad Sako, Henry lucky to still be on the pitch after a diabolical challenge in the first half and a cert penalty turned down by the ref. Wolves came back at us strongly in the second half so there was some desperate defending but I'm happy with three points, especially as my friends' teams lost this week. ;) ;) ;)

Away now to see if we have signed Messi yet!! You heard it first here!!

Watched most of Leicester v Wolves on Sky.....Football on a Thursday...what's that all about. I can't ever remember going to football on a Thursday.....anyway...Wolves look a much better team thatn they were when Palace played them (and beat them 3-0 a few weeks ago)....Dean Saunders has worked wonders....I'm sure Leicester must have played better than that...Two good goals from them....I thought the same as Mr Pearson...Leicester won 'dirty' but if you are going to get promotion you need to be able to dig in and get the odd ugly victory....Leicester were very Susan Boyle tonight.

Subo! Subo! Subo!!

(What do you mean - Susan Boyle, Paul?) In the first half and for periods in the second half they played very attractive football but I agree Wolves did cause a few problems especially towards the end when they threw men forward.

I always wonder why teams don't commit more players forward in the hunt for a goal. Why wait until the last 5 minutes if it's such a good ploy to snatch a goal? Southampton did that last night at Manu and looked pretty impressive from what I saw.

Paul, Yesterdays attendance was on tickets sold, so the actual attendance would have been quite a bit lower, depending on how many season ticket holders did not show up, it has been 1500 - 2000 down especially for mid week matches. The cup game on Saturday would have been realistic as it was pay at the gate for home fans.
