Have you noticed how Valentine cards are only sold singly, whereas at Christmas you can buy boxes for a much cmore reasonable price per card. I think there is a market opportunity for a box of, say, 20 Valentine cards, with the inscription "To the only girl I ever loved". Might take the idea to Dragon's Den.

But wouldn't it take 20 years to use them all up?

... and wouldn't Trish soon realise that it was the same card year after year.

Well..my Valentines weekend started on friday, when I flew to LHR..Alex was waiting for me with a bottle of Jo Malone perfume, in the normal bag with a red ribbon on it .
Then when we got to,our apartment, there were bunches of red roses all over.
My cards were waiting too, with a rose and wrapped up with a red ribbon.
He had prepared a meal in the slow cooker for us to eat, as it was quite late and horrid weather, so we had a cosy night
Saturday, champagne breakfast with all the trimmings..taxi into Windsor..then a fab lunch, shopping in all the shops I wanted to go in..especially the antique jewellery shop. Just browsed..but for a good thirty minutes !! Then taxi back after more champagne.. .. An afternoon snooze, then got all dressed up as Alex was making our seafood feast.( someone on here recommended a fish shop near Peascod street and it has become a form favourite with really good quality fish and seafood) More champagne...great music and plenty of romance. Sunday...we chilled....
Alex is a romantic anyway.. But he does make an extra special time on valentines day.
We are also going way next weekend for a romantic weekend...

Alex is just so thoughtful...much more than I am.
I get poetry, cards, letters and flowers for no reason... quite often.
Not religiously every two weeks type of thing, but just when the mood takes him...

But I'm nice back to him...eg, ironing the 30 shirts he has piled up in his washing basket here in Meryton....and I am nice in other ways

The weekend away is for my birthday, but he just goes to so much trouble for me.
He has told our kids to sends cards to hotel, and sent his there already and has told the hotel to place them on our breakfast table.

He knows that when I was small the Aberfan Disaster had a huge affect on me and I have always wanted to go there and pay my respects. We are going on saturday.

I can remember the graveyard/memorial when it was new at Aberfan - the families used to bring toys for Xmas and birthdays etc. There was a silence about the place; you may find it quite moving. All those little white arches.
