Best period of your life

What do you think is the best period of your life?
Assume you have to pick a period of 5-10 years what age group or which calendar years would you pick

I think Ken it would be the 10 year period from the age of 19 to my late twenties, when I started to blossom as a young adult and met 007, the newness of love which only deepened as we married and each of our four children were born. Sorry if that seems a bit Mills & Boon but they were extremely happy years.

Probably from mid to late thirties, when we began to have enough money to really enjoy life, to mid to
late forties, when we were devastated to find one of our chilfren had a serious, life long illness and at that point realsed no amount of money could help.

Despite enjoying life, it is always over-shadowed by this.

That's a difficult one I could choose something from each period of my life but I think I would have to say "now"

"Now" wouldn't be the same if I had never met my lovely husband so if I can have two choices the late 80's would be the other when I met him ( yeah that's very Mills and Boon too  )

I think now is the best period. Our children are adults have happy marriages and good jobs. We can now concentrate on ourselves and planning the rest of our lives together.

Best period of 'work hard, play hard' would be in my 30's. That was the time I was working abroad. The hours were long and intense but the lifestyle and opportunities were immense.

However I love my retirement. For the first time I am (relatively) free of stress, have no money worries, live in a lovely house in a beautiful part of the country and can do exactly what I want when I want. Apart from the usual aches and pains my OH and I are pretty healthy so it seems things could not be much better.
I was taught to be cautious

From the time we got married in my late 20's to my mid thirties. Money was short but we got by, loved our jobs & were fit & healthy. Although NOW is also a good time it's rather tempered by ill health amongst the family & to me good health is far more important than wealth.

Must be 20-25 for me.

Graduated, got first job and made new friends down in Reading (we were out most nights at one or other pub playing darts and pool and eating kebabs). :D

Then I moved back North, and met Wina. :)

Probably from about the mid 90's to the early 2000's.

It was a point in our life were we had few worries and were relatively young. Mr Gill's mum sadly died in 1995, and my own parents were healthy at the time, so we had no worries about elderly parents and enough money to have holidays in the USA every year, which is what we wanted at the time.

That was followed by the worse period of my life from 2003 to 2009, with my parents illness, my dads death, my mum in a care home, my mums death and then redundancy. Thank God I had some cruises to keep me sane.

Life is better again now, I work park time and have much more free time, and we still have enough money to cruise. I'm looking forward to when my husband retires in 2016, when I'll stop working. So hopefully we'll have another few good years before old age really kicks in.

Best period of my life would have to be between 5-11 years of age as it was between those years that I enjoyed uninterrupted fun.

I would say the best period of my life is now, just approaching my 73rd birthday.

A lovely wife and home, 2 great children and 3 lovely grand children, all living within 10 minutes of one another, will be having a family get together Sunday to celebrate my birthday.

No mortgage and although not wealthy, financial secure and stress free.

Personally fairly healthy, although my wife increasingly suffers the affects of arthritis.

If we get there, in two years will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary.

I am enjoying my life now. My job is rewarding, I have a lovely wife and daughter, some super friends, a nice home and a couple of decent holidays a year.

I think the best time was from the age of 15 to 17, we were living in Cyprus as my father was in the RAF stationed at Nicosia, made some lovely friends and had a fab time, no worries, no stress, just plenty of enjoyment.

Tho I suppose, if I can have 2 choices, i would have to say now as well, again no money worries to speak of , no mortgage, two wonderful children and so far three gorgeouss grandsons who all live within 7 miles of us. Time to do cruises.
