The Hairy Bikers

Unread post by Frank Manning »

Is anyone else becoming a bit bored with the format? We like cookery programmes, we love Asian cuisine, and Dave and Si have done some good ones, but this Asian adventure seems to consist of too much fooling around and exclamations of "Whoooa mon, that is beautiful". Rick Stein was much the same, we began to glaze over when he did his oriental trip.

What next, 'Mary Berry cooks Eskimo Food'?

  So did we last night. Pity because I think Dave Myers is a really nice genuine bloke.

I can never understand why producers seem to think it is necessary to 'dumb down' rather than let a programme run on its own merits. It seems to be fashionable at the moment and I find it patronising and irritating. What next? Attenborough doing the Conga in the rain forest?

We normally enjoy watching them but after ploughing through the first episode of this new programme we gave up.

I like to watch any cookery programme especially the ones that have a 'different' theme.
I am always open to new ingredients and tweaks to regular recipes but from last nights show I will be giving this a miss.
I don't think I am as adventurous as I thought I was.

If l had my way l would do away with all of these cookery programs or at the very least put them all on one dedecated channel... which l can then avoid like the plague.

Wall to wall cookery programs aint my idea of good tv viewing
