Re: The Most Incompetent Company You Have Dealt With
This really takes the biscuit
Many years ago Betty and I employed our Bank - Midland now HSBC to write both our very simple wills
Both our wills were lodged with the Midland together with the deeds of or house plus other important documents
Dear oh dear the bank has lost all our documents and of course we are able to get the necessary probate
documentation to conclude Betty's estate
This has been very traumatic for me and the family
To speak face face to a senior member of the Bank was impossible, so we were forced to seek the aid of a solicitor to act for us, his hourly rate is £215 per hour plus VAT, seven months later my documents were found and sent to my Son's local bank, which took 23 days
Unbloodybelieavable

That is totally unacceptable, Graham, and I trust HSBC will be refunding the legal fees that THEY obliged you to incur.

To date I/WE have been totally unable to talk face to face with any HSBC our upstairs buddies
However through the many cyber/phone outrages we now have the necessary documents for completion probate of my beautiful Betty's modest estate
Beware dear shipmates - loosing a much beloved is very pricey with lots of emotions
Just pleased to see the light at the end of a bleedy long tunnel

Good luck with Santander. If ever you have a problem it's easier getting into Fort Knox than getting somebody who will do anything to help you. Even those in the branches seem to be unable to break in. However when things get really bad a quick letter to the Chief Exec gets a quick response, but you shouldn't need to do that.

I thought that used to work in a bank, so I was very cynical, but recently swopped from Halifax to Nationwide with the new switching system,Dark Knight wrote:Santander are proper hopeless

Re: The Most Incompetent Company You Have Dealt With
I contacted a firm the other day but not one of the options would fit what I wanted to know but one of the options was 'Customer Liaison' so I decided to go with that as the closest fit.
I got through to a very sniffy madam who said, 'But this is Customer Liaison!!'
I told her, 'Indeed! I am a customer and I'm liaising with you to find out........................... as my query does not fit any of your options.'
She was really put out but it's another example of firms full of Jobs Worths.
I'm still no better informed what she would mean by 'Customer Liaison' - another fancy title which means little but keeps somebody in a job?
