P&O Forum

Unread post by haveabeer »

I was thinking how long is it since i visited the main site since the community page has gone and i think maybe once
although i have a cruise booked nothing is happening yet still 17 weeks to go

My point is i used to look at web cams and troll through the late deals look at others peoples pictures read there blogs look at what was happening
My thoughts are is P&O losing out with no community forum

This site is great so easy to use and have to say less moaners so long may the site continue

Nice sentiments HOB.

I've only been looking at the P&O site to view the webcams, since the community forum went down.

We may look at a World Segment for 2014 but following problem experiences over the past couple of years we will no longer book until the Airlines are known and contracted, which is at the 11 month stage of course.

Meanwhile I have hardly looked at the P&O site in 2013.

Firstly apologies if this offends anyone, but in the length of time which P&O have taken to 'not fix' their forum this lovely wonderful forum has come into existance - so are P&O purposefully 'not fixing' their forum?

Sorry, but I can't help but wonder. Anyway, huge thanks for this new forum - I really don't think I shall go back.

Em :)

Sorry to disillusion you Em, but this is only a "temporary" home until P&O get their own forum back

This was the last post re the subject I have seen from P & O, posted on P&O's official fb page.

P&O Cruises Hi, We still have a website, it is just the community section that is not working at present. We're hoping to have some news on this very soon. Thank you.

Since the P&O forum went down, I have probably been on the website twice since, so not missing it at all. I think P&O are missing a trick.

However although david63 has said this a temporary forum until they do, P&O really will have to pull their fingers out to get anywhere near
the efficiency and usability and the likeability of this forum. How can they get it so wrong is what I want to know, its pants compared to this forum.

Problem is, the CC site was not P&O's core business whereas David seems to have put his heart and soul into this little venture, bless him ! I agree with you, though, that the CC did attract a lot of visitors and, at least for now, many of those are lost to the main P&O site

I know where you are coming from with the CC forum not being P&O's core business, but people are not going and visiting the rest of the site but site traffic is important and it must be dwindling.

I wonder, like Boris, whether its deliberate that P&O have not fixed it. We were once sat on a table on a cruise with one of the P&O IT guys and no way was an issue allowed to linger on like the forum being down has, so is there some other reason.

I know you all liked the forum but from outside I could see it was getting worse, not to use obviously just the content...I did say...

NOOOOO, I love it here. I can't imagine P & O producing anything near as likeable and easy to use.

TBH, I'm not sure that P & O will get their forum up and running again. I don't think they have any hidden agenda about it, I just think they'd have to completely redesign their whole website to incorporate a functional forum.

I feel less connected to P & O than I used to, but I'm willing to accept that disconnection if I can have a forum that isn't a headache to use.

You're doing a fab job with this forum, David, I'd be delighted if it turned out to be a long term thing!

Maybe best disconnected? Less inclined to just book P&O without comparing others?

That was your opinion John, but after it was de-trolled quite a few members started posting again along with regular new members joining.

At least you agree about the trolls Ken! Some very odd characters or maybe just one or two?

Although banned (unfairly IMO) I have continued to read the forum with interest for years Ken, and it is fair to say that in spite of 'de-trolling' I have read more than one unpleasant thread. The moderation left a lot to be desired.

I doubt that anybody who was banned from the P&O site would be inclined to rave about their Moderators
