so in my small way I am giving them a bit of motivation

And I bet the only way he remembers what 'Mr Wriggly' looked like is by taking a gander at his baby photos at bath time :D

In my case the initial weight loss surge has come to an abrupt end and I have now reached a point where it’s going to take real determination to reach my goal of losing two stone. Never defeated and determined to accomplish what I set out to achieve I am now hitching a ride on my wife’s i-run in an attempt to burn off some extra calories. I’ve just finished my first walkabout averaging 21 minutes to the mile with a calorie burn rate of 119cals. (The scenery was stunning if not a little repetitive) My heart rate rarely breached 118 so I must be a lot fitter than I thought...This has been borne out by the fact that I feel so much healthier and considerably less out of breath when walking up steep inclines.

Stay string pinchers

Hi all,
I will be rejoining you on Monday. I am dreading getting on the scales to find out how much weight I have put on.

Very few of my clothes fit me so it must be a lot.

Fingers crossed for a rapid weight loss.

It must be all those cocktails of the day, Sue but I bet you've enjoyed every moment of the cruise not just the food and drink. We've enjoyed all your cruise reports.

You'll soon take it off Sue so don't worry

It sounds as if you have had a wonderful time so a few pounds is a small price to pay.

Thanks, Maureen. The downside to it, though, is that I'm now a 35" waist. Even with a belt, 36" trousers are too loose, and 34" just that little bit too snug. Why do sizes only go in increments of 2"?

The secret is Alan is to find a designer who is either generous or skimpy ..simples

As a for instance Jeff Banks ( Debenhams ) I have always found to be cut on the small side, I don't think they are small as such but he seems to 'cut' shall we say for the more 'toned figure' ( you are well on your way though ) I also think this happens with a lot of Italian designers both for men and women.

Much easier to keep putting an extra notch in the belt

ps: well done again !!

I think I have got the same problem as Alan - I have just tried my favourite black trousers on ready to wear to a 40th Black and White birthday party and they keep slipping down. Unfortunately, they don't have any belt loops to put a belt through so I am going to have to spend the evening yanking them up all the time which should look really elegant.

I will wait for tomorrow morning to weigh in but there has been a meal out this week for OH's birthday (lots of wine and a gorgeous Eton Mess) and a party tonight so I may fit back into these trousers pretty soon.

Maureen.

Well, I wasn't looking forward to this morning's weigh in but I have gone down to 142lbs 8oz so quite pleased with that. I originally said I wanted to get to 145lbs but have gone below that. I am starting to see some changes to my face/waist from the weight loss so will need to rethink where I want to settle. At the moment I think 140 lbs will be about right for me, slightly above the recommended weight for my height but I don't want the shadows on my face turning into crevices.

Good luck to everyone else.

According to this chart, I should be aiming for 10 stone as a mid-point.

Just 1/2ib for me this week but at least in the right direction

Maureen, I'm only looking to get 4 more pounds off but they are proving the hardest :o

Jo - I think trying to maintain our ideal weights will probably prove even harder. I tell myself that I will allow just a 2lb increase once I settle at 140 lbs and then deal with that immediately but then again pigs might fly

Alan - if I grow an inch I am already at my ideal weight. Stretching exercises coming up.

Good morning pinchers....and oh what a beautiful morning it is too.

Haviing struggled for a couple of weeks l'm pleased to say the scale have put a big smile on my face this morning......4lb loss this week...only 7lbs to go to reach my target of 2 stone weight loss.

Being a little stricter with myself and my daily stint on the I-run seems to be paying dividends.

Alan...just checked out your chart and l am just creeping into the healthy weight column.

Well done Maureen....you have done brilliantly as have you Jo. When you havn't got a lot to lose, lossing it becomes so much harder.

Stay strong pinchers.

Remember... " those of us with ample girth could be the butt of others mirth" Ha Ha Darkpanties you'll soon be needing to move onto another slimming club

Well done pinchers

Thank you Maureen

Probably not the amount of weight loss one should be losing on a regular basis, especialy so when taking into account what l've already lost. l got to a point where l was nether going forward or bacwards so wanted to have a good go last week....as you can see, l am now going in the right direction again.

Have just been out to buy a pair of size 12 M&S black trousers as the size 14s I wore Saturday night were really flapping about. The size 12s fit snugly so will only buy 1 pair at the moment to be on the safe side but it is many years since my wardrobe had a size 12 hanging up in them. I just hope my size 14 dresses aren't too loose as there is no way I want to have to buy new cruise clothes ready for June as it has taken me ages to get a decent selection of clothes up together.

I weigh most mornings and had actually gone up a bit so I think Saturday night's party finally caught up with me today.

In the immortal words of our leader - Stay strong pinchers.
