I was going to post a photo...but remembered there were size restrictions...and I couldn't seem to find the information...maybe it was right in front of my face?

Re: MSC Opera cruise report
This is certainly a lot more difficult than it should be.

Re: MSC Opera cruise report
I already moved a photo into my album...what I would like to have are the restrictions displaying in a post photos out on the internet...most of all the location on this site where I can find the information.

It's not bad once you get used to it, Buil.
The way I do it (I notice you deleted your earlier post in which you tried to insert the link) is, after uploading your photo, click on it to get it full-screen, then copy the URL in the address bar, and then return to your posting in the thread, click on the button "URL" and then between the first closing square bracket and the second opening square bracket (the cursor should already be there), paste the address - like so: http://cruise-community.me.uk/gallery/i ... age_id=509. If you hit "quote" on this message, the coding will appear in the text, so you can see more clearly what I mean. Alternatively, you can, WITHIN the first set of square brackets, put an equals sign immediately after "url" and paste the address in, then between the closing and opening brackets, type some other text, like this:
"Here's a photo of me and the ship's entertainer"
Hope that helps

Re: MSC Opera cruise report
Thank you for your efforts...what I'm looking for is to be able to display the photo in the post itself...not the link to the photo (url...I am extremely familiar with url's and links). Here is another attempt at the photo showing the Grandeur of the Seas Singer/Entertainer who scanned our cruise cards for muster...which did not work. At this time I'll just provide the url:
http://cruise-community.me.uk/gallery/i ... age_id=509
http://cruise-community.me.uk/gallery/i ... age_id=509

Firstly I have moved this discussion to the correct forum.
Secondly you need to use the img tags not url tags
Thirdly for an image to be displayed it needs to have a valid image extension (e.g. - .jpg, .gif)

I'd wondered what the "img" tab was for but never bothered to click on it!
I tried it with an image from the forum gallery but it just displayed the word "image". Clearly I'm doing something wrong.

If you go to your album image and click on it at the bottom will be a box "bbcode" select all that and copy it into your post as
which displays

Code: Select all

Re: Inserting a Picture in a Post
I have just tried to post an inline image on the Southampton roadworks thread. I can post a URL but the [img]<URL>[/img] just seems to give a small box labelled 'Image'.

Yes, sort of. The important bit has been cropped on the right-hand side. If there is a limit on pixel size then I can resample before submitting.
