If this is deemed to be justice then the juries who presided over this verdict need locking up.

Re: Current Affairs - 2026
Looks as if we are having a repeat of the Boris/Cummings saga but this time with Starmer/Morgan McSweeney - do these people never learn?
Apparently it was Morgan McSweeney that pushed for Mandelson to be US Ambassador - I don't suppose that it had anything to do with McSweeney having learnt his craft from Mandelson!
I don't understand why we have non elected "advisors" making such major political decisions - they should either elected or be civil servants, not somebody with their own agenda.

Surely Sir Hindsight must be toast? He expressed confidence in Mandelson and McSweeney and they're both gone. Surely that is enough to say his judgement isn't up to the job?
Taking bets on how long? Hours, days, weeks? Not the last I think.

The problem is that currently there is no obvious successor - Andy Burnham is not likely to be an MP any time soon, Angela Raynor is still being investigated by HMRC and Wes Streeting is a Mandelson acolyte.Stephen wrote: 09 Feb 2026, 14:30The way things are looking i’d be surprised if Starmer lasts the week.

So Charlie has broken wind and expressed his profound concerns about his brother randy Andy…perhaps he should stop paying board and lodgings for the traitor and let him take my place in the tower?
What we do know for certain is that behind the scenes the Firm will be working overtime implementing their damage limitation exercise.
What a load of shady characters you royalists support

Probably as much chance as Thames Valley Police have of finding evidence to charge Randy Andy of passing on confidential trade deal information and abusing young girls.Portsmouth wrote: 10 Feb 2026, 12:53Ahh, another fishing postDo you think anyone will rise to the bait

So Sir Hindsight survives another day. But I rather think he has won the battle but not the war. Unless he pulls a really big rabbit out of the hat to satisfy the electorate and swing the polls he'll be right back where he is now after the May local elections.

My guess is that he will not be PM at the next general election. (OL told me that he put a bet on that he would still be there - so I think my guess is probably right!)Mervyn and Trish wrote: 10 Feb 2026, 17:04So Sir Hindsight survives another day. Considering all the donkeys PM’s we’ve had over the last two decades I think Keir has every chance of finishing the race…I quite like the chap, and as we have just over 3 years of the labour party left then changing PM would mean a sharp drift to the left... should they get rid of him…better the devil me thinks, besides, I think the Labour party as a whole are doing a pretty good job of sorting out the mess the Conservatives left behind.

Announcing things and actually bringing them to fruition are two very different things.
All that Labour does is make announcements without any substance.

But have not said where they are going to come from - it takes around 10 years to train a GP.Onelife wrote: 11 Feb 2026, 12:08Announced that over 1,000 more GPs will be recruited this year, supporting NHS services.

Questionable as to whether they will improve - experience says not.Onelife wrote: 11 Feb 2026, 12:08Launched new legislation to bring the UK's railways back into public ownership which will improve rail services.
The construction industry were never consulted over this and have clearly stated that the target is a non starter.
