That's sad. An England legend gone but we'll never forget his merry dance in 66.

Did you see the 25 yard header against the Hornets.
A good comeback for them and the Gills.

Not yet but I did see that we are 2nd in the table and that Sarr took the winning penalty with Deeney on the pitch as a sub, as you say a good comeback by both of our teams

They're shipping a lot of goals and not scoring so freely any more. Maybe their tactics have been rumbled.

I’ve just heard the interview with the Gills manager after our match at Cambridge and he actually said, I’m delighted to be out of this competition.
I’ve never heard any manager say that in my entire life 😂😂😂
Unbelievable.

Fair point Moby, but to actually come out and say it publicly ??
He also said that the only reason he made eight changes from Saturday was because he didn’t have enough players to make eleven but he only had three on the bench and made no subs.
He said he would have preferred to pick a load of youth players to give them experience but the entire youth squad were isolating due to a covid infection.

I expect he’s going to be chastised by the authorities.
I feel a fine coming on.

I think all EFL managers are worried about the number of games being played each month, this season most clubs are seeing an increased number of stress injuries to players due to this, as well as having far less time on the training ground as the teams recover and prepare for games.

We have a big squad compared to some but only on paper ... I doubt our Manager will be too fussed when ManU dump us out of the FA Cup and whoever it will be from the Carabou Cup. We have been unable to play a regular rota system anywhere on the park apart from the two / three Centre Backs due to injuries carried over from last season let alone this plus recent stress injuries and positive Covid tests. We play to win but the foot comes off the gas for as long as possible in this far too intense schedule that they are having to follow.

Not going to moan though  ... we are, after all, sitting with Norwich and Bournemouth in the top three spots near Christmas with players yet to make their first appearance of the season :D

We only have a squad of 21 players and that is with 6 loanees of which only 5 can be in the match day squad.
Then there are two season out injuries in that.
Of the loan players, only one is a regular starter and that’s 18 year old lad from Celtic. He puts himself about but unfortunately seems to get booked every time he plays.
The other loan players are bit part.
Coyle from Arsenal is only 19 and too light weight for the hustle and bustle of league one although he is an excellent finisher and would look better in a more skilful team.
We are a bit Thud and Blunder.
Nothing subtle about a Steve Evans team.

The three relegated are going well so far.

Admiring glances have been cast in the direction of Buendia if you are thinking of raising a bit of cash. I'll have a word with Brenda.

Pleased to see us doing a Watford at the weekend with Vardy scoring in virtually the last kick of the match, apart when he broke the corner flag in his celebration. That's what happens when you buy cheap off Sheffield market!!!

As a season ticket holder at Selhurst Park I was offered a ticket for the Palace v Spurs game on Sunday. I turned it down. I've been a Palace season ticket holder since 1968 and missed very few home games in that time (I think about 17) but until we can play in a full stadium again I just have no enthusiasm to return to watching football live. How do others feel?
