Re: General Election
No David......He spent most of the time saying Andrew, Andrew, Andrew.
Can you imagine what he'll do to Jo Swinson.........its going to end in tears for sure.
If Boris has any sense he'll be jotting up on the A to Z book of avoiding letterboxes.

Re: General Election
It appears the market is factoring in a Tory win, both Sterling and the FTSE 100 are on the up, in fact both are at 3 month highs, and Sterling is almost a 12 month high.

Re: General Election
Well I am sure that this will upset a few of you. I am going to be delivering LibDem leaflets this weekend. I don't suppose it will make a jot of difference to our result locally. Our MP is one of Boris' closest accolytes, but I feel that if you have a belief in something, you should support it with more than hot air. In my case, shoe leather.

I have no problem with those who have a different opinion to my own just as long as they respect my own. I applaud your commitment to your cause Frank.

Re: General Election
So they are calling for my local conservative MP Philp Dunne to be suspended ....he apparently told a indian labour candidate that he was "talking through his turban"
Perhaps, at theses sensitive times not the best choice of words but in his defence he could hardly have said the he was "talking through his hat" now could he?

I'm sorry but he shouldn't be in politics if he is so easily offended.

I have read and heard on radio and TV just recently that some of the politicians have in the past not been telling the truth.
Can you believe that!!!

Re: General Election
Two Labour canvassers called this morning, and asked if they could count on my vote. I explained that I always keep as open a mind as possible, and a that a couple of the Labour councillors were friends of mine. But no, I will not be voting Labour especially while Jeremy and Momentum are running the party. They said that they had heard similar expressions locally and why was that? I explained that if Jeremy thought Venezuela was a good example of how to run an economy then count me out. What's more while I applauded the Atlee government, and I deplored the flawed privatisation of railways telecoms, gas, water, electricity etc., it was unrealistic to try to put the whole lot back into state hands with all the implications for poor management and investment. So they assumed I would vote Tory. Again I said no, our local Tory councillors are excellent and I would always vote for them, but that the MP was a supporter of Boris Johnson and I don't want a No Deal Brexit which I fear is likely if he gets a big majority. Then they gave me chapter and verse on why only Labour can stop a No Deal Brexit, so I said well can you tell me what is Labour's policy on Brexit? No reply. so there you have it in a nutshell, for me. There are a few good MPs but like an indifferent orchestra, a few good musicians cant make up for a useless conductor. I am only one voter, and I am old, so I cant make a real difference, but this is my only opportunity to express my opinion such as it is, so I shall do it on polling day, and hope.

Re: General Election
We are a 63% Leave constituency with a Remainer Labour MP with a 3000 majority. The constituency has been Labour ever since Noah was a lad. In more ways than one this part of the country has been neglected by successive governments and has suffered accordingly. It is hardly surprising that the local populace see little by way of benefit from our membership of the EU. However whether they will vote against Labour remains to be seen although the Tory candidate has been a popular and hard working local councillor.
I have never voted Tory in my life but looking at the alternatives and what they are offering they seem to be a best fit. Certainly I will play no part in putting Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott, Thornberry, Butler and the rest of the Metropolitan Mafia in control.

When the local Liebour group came canvassing I gave them approximately 1 minute ,I told them what I thought of their leadership and never to set foot on my property again. I shave and never will vote Labour.

Re: General Election Golden Tuesday
A dream.
After Black Friday the labour party are today introducing Golden Tuesday
They are offering a free draw to anyone who pledges to vote labour on 12th December.
There will be a free draw in each of the 650 constituencies in which the first prize will be £1,000,000 in each constituency.
There will be a second prize in each consituency of free money so that you can spend £100,00 on anything you dream of.
So the total prize fund will be £715,000,000. so vote labour you know it will line your pockets.
To those worried aboout the cost of this free draw, please don't worry, it's free, there won't be any cost. We will be issuing governmant bonds to cover that.
Have I woken up yet.

Re: General Election
No John - it is just a ruse.
In reality when Labour win the GE next week everything will be free anyway so you will not need money. So the pound, or in this case the million pound, in your pocket will not be worth anything!!
