I'm cruising in May so am likely to be on Azura on the big day. Do you think P&O will do anything to mark the occasion? A glass of fizz to toast the happy couple perhaps? Were any of you on a cruise when William and Kate got married?

We set off on one that day. We watched most of it in our hotel before we're headed for embarkation.

I too genuinely wish them well but I fear that Harry has the ' wrecko / mememe / attention seeking ' Princess Diane gene and if that is indeed the case then this is one marriage that simply will not last ... not with both of them needing to be ' Numeral uno '.

I know, sorry and all that
I do hope you are wrong Moby :(

I wouldn't call Harry 'attention seeking' but I do think he's inherited many of Diana's qualities and uses his 'name' to get what he wants, is that a bad thing ?? personally I don't think so, he has/does do a lot of good and the success of the Invictus Games is proof of that.

He was very young when Diana died and it would be hard for any child to comprehend why it happened but even harder for a royal who belongs to a family who doesn't show 'emotion' I believe he has 'found' himself at long last and I for one hope he goes from strength to strength with his lovely bride at his side.

What a wonderful day they had. It looked a truly splendid wedding, though pared back by usual royal standards and I doubt anyone could think they were anything less than very much in love. Meghan looked absolutely fabulous in her beautiful, classy wedding gown and her amazingly gorgeous evening gown, and Harry looked dashing in his uniform and later his DJ.

I for one, wish the Duke and Duchess of Sussex every happiness - and have every confidence in their commitment to one another.

I think she tries to look sultry but just ends up looking miserable. Perhaps she is worried about getting wrinkles if she smiles or maybe the Botox will crack. I don't know but I find her posturing and posing irritating. Not a fan.

Lovely wedding yesterday but never heard such a load of codswallop coming from the mouths of commentators and media types as we have heard since in their analyses. I just saw it as a beautiful occasion where two young(ish) people got wed rather than the nuances of diversity, self reliance, snubbing tradition by an assertive women's equality activist.
They say Meghan is going to bring change to the Royal Family by breaking away from tradition. I don't think so. Harry is a low level Royal in the pecking order and as such would not merit, or necessarily want, a state wedding. Hence we had a low key affair which was much more informal and reflected his bride's American culture. It's as simple as that. Why read into it something which isn't there?
This morning one commentator was bemoaning the fact that Meghan's mother was sat on her own and wouldn't you have thought the Queen would have gone over to her!!! What do they think it is - a bingo meeting in the local Mecca hall?!!! For goodness sake, just rejoice and let everybody enjoy the occasion!!!

Rant off my chest!!!

Mobietta watched it all … I flitted in and out, very nicely done etc but I did feel that their new ' titles ' missed an opportunity to demonstrate change and inclusion. Instead of being called the Duke and Duchess of Sussex I reflected on the idea of the Duke and Duchess of Cumbria, as one example.

ps ... nought t do wi Foxy lad.

The BBC is already waiting for the cost of the event to become available under the freedom of information act, presumably so it can pander to the left wing republican supporters within its ranks.
Whatever the cost I reckon it was worth it for the feel good factor alone, never mind the boost it will most certainly bring to our tourist trade, even the fickle British weather was on it's best behaviour, hardly a breeze to ruffle the fancy dresses and headgear of all the guests.
Let us hope the tabloid feeding frenzy for sensational gossip about Meghan's family and her previous relationships will now die down and allow them a little peace, or is that too much to ask.

I think the whole thing was great, thoroughly enjoyed watching it. It certainly appeared a love match and Meghan looked fantastic. Her gown was so elegant, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and the Givenchy clothes she wore in many of her films. So, no sparkle, frills etc. and that veil was beautiful. The whole wedding seemed to be such a happy occasion, none of the pomp that the wedding of William and Kate had as theirs was a State occasion. The crowds of people in the town centre and on the Long Walk seemed so happy. I also thought Meghan's mother showed poise and elegance that has been sadly lacking in the other side of the Markle family.

One thing that I have not seen mentioned anywhere and is probably unique (certainly in modern times) is that Megan had three future Kings of England participating in her wedding.
