Re: Frequent login request
For the record my post #24 relates to IP addr changes rather than connection speed.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

When I said speed I meant speed of pages opening.

I'm not convinced by the IP argument. It happens on my phone and not in my PC, but my phone is connected to.my WiFi rather than mobile data so is surely on the same IP as my PC. And and since my router is permanently on surely that doesn't change.

Re: Frequent login request
I dont seem to have any problems with the forum site, I only rarely need to re-login, and the posts, pages and all forum responses are lightening fast. Which compares very favourably with my other main cruise forum, CC.

Your router can be restarted remotely and you only need a minor dip in power to restart a router.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 16:55And and since my router is permanently on surely that doesn't change.
You mat think that you are using wifi but are you sure that you are not using mobile data?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 16:55I'm not convinced by the IP argument. It happens on my phone

Possible but unlikely to happen almost every day!david63 wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 19:08Your router can be restarted remotely and you only need a minor dip in power to restart a router.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 16:55And and since my router is permanently on surely that doesn't change.
Absolutely certain. Mobile data is turned off.david63 wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 19:08You mat think that you are using wifi but are you sure that you are not using mobile data?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 16:55I'm not convinced by the IP argument. It happens on my phone
I am more convinced by the OS glitch or browser argument.

Your Router is on but not always connected, it will time out and reconnect which may result in a change to your IP address .... if fibre optic ready.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 16:55And and since my router is permanently on surely that doesn't change.

Re: Frequent login request
I noticed this morning when trying to sign in to this site that trying the normal way it would not work at all but when I clicked on port the site opened up fine and signed me in as well, I then tried to open this subject clicking the link nothing happened after waiting a minute I right clicked on the link then clicked on open link and it opened straight away with no problems.
but it did take over 30 seconds when clicking submit button before anything happened
I am using a hp desktop computer with goggle chrome that is only just over a year old

However since it only affects my phone and not my PC or tablet connected to the same router and IP my money is still on a phone issue. However it's not a big deal. I've switched browser on the phone to see if that makes a difference.

Yes, I have the slow speed problem too, for about the last week.MaureenB wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 11:51
I have the same slow speed on this site on my Laptop,Tablet and phone. Never had this problem before except in the last week or so.
It tales ages to sign in, and to post on the forum.
It was all fine one day, then the next day it wasn't

Yes, Gill, same here, on both Chrome and other browsers, plus on desktop, laptop and 'phone.
I think enough of us are affected that perhaps the site operators could help us out by trying to sort the problem out.
Many thanks and happy new year.

I've had no speed problems. Have switched browser on my phone to see if that makes any difference to the logins. Fingers crossed it'll be better next year.

Re: Frequent login request
Now that things have settled down after the festivities is there any answer to the problems?
I am finding it so frustrating waiting for the site to load in the first instance, and then the wait between changing topics is,again, a pain. As I said in my earlier post I have tried everything in my limited arsenal of tech knowledge to no avail. I do not have this problem with any other site I go on.
I agree with Anniec on 31 December :-
"I think enough of us are affected that perhaps the site operators could help us out by trying to sort the problem out."
Hoping one of you clever folk has the answer.
Regards
Maureen

Re: Frequent login request
I’m sure it must be frustrating Maureen but all I can say is things are working fine for me. No help for you, but I thought I would mention it.
Using iPad and Google Chrome. Also fine on my desktop PC using Windows 7, IE11 and regular Google.

The problem is that I am not seeing any of these problems and there is nothing being reported in the logs.
