Nothing I have done.
Perhaps a browser issue - which browser are you using?

Did you run a cleaning tool like ccleaner, wise, diskcleanup etc.?
Did you clear browser cache/cookies?
Where you using an incognito browser window?
Did you receive windows updates or restart your computer?

Probably one of the many issues with Chrome.
Chrome used to be a good browser but of late there are endless problems with it.

Re: Frequent login request
A lot depends on which version of Chrome you use - and don't ask me which versions are good and which are bad as I don't know.

All good this morning David.
It wasn’t a problem, just wondered why. Oh well, one of those things I guess.
I blame Boris

I think more than likely an OS glitch, particularly on mobile devices. Both Android and iOS can do strange things as part of battery preservation. It caused us a major headache earlier this year ... we hadn't changed the software, but several hundred users complained that one of the features in our software had stopped working ... we could not reproduce it on any of our devices in house (despite an all hands silver bullet) ... but a couple of days later it magically went away.david63 wrote: 21 Dec 2021, 16:04Probably one of the many issues with Chrome.
Chrome used to be a good browser but of late there are endless problems with it.
We had a good laugh at some of the feedback we got; one group saying how their worlds had ended and that our IT department was useless; and another group saying thank you for fixing the problem so quickly ... we had actually done nothing. One of our teams eventually found the problem .. a rogue update to the OS (reversed out a couple of days later).
Apart from 1 serious issue (about July time this year) I find chrome to be highly reliable ... and it better flamin well remain that way because 78% of our user sessions use chrome. There is also a file upload issue with Chromium (affects all browsers using that engine).

Re: Frequent login request
I'm not consciously using Chrome, but the standard browser built into my phone. However, you experts will maybe know if that is itself Chrome based. From my experience, including a recent OS innate, Ken's explanation sounds very feasible and fits the symptoms.

Re: Frequent login request
Having said I was having no problems using Chrome, I'm now having to log in each day when I try to access the site. However, if I try to log on later the same day it seems to get straight in. This is on an HP laptop. Also each topic seems to be slow coming up when I click on a heading. I haven't had any recent updates to my laptop. It's just annoying, not a real problem.

Re: Frequent login request
I don't have to log in each time I go onto the site (and I use Chrome) but it is very slow on entering and takes ages to change topics. I have cleared my cookies and history but it has made no difference. Anyone got any ideas? I don't have this problem on any of my other frequently used "favourites". My broadband speed is very fast as a rule.

Re: Frequent login request
I have just had to login again as well. Not a problem but I thought the idea of checking the ‘keep me logged in’ box was supposed to stop having to do this.
I’m also using Chrome.

The site has been very slow for me as well, plus have to log in every time when using my 'phone (not when using my laptop).

Re: Frequent login request
Accessing any site from a mobile device can require frequent logins due to the fact that most mobile networks use a range of IP addresses and the one that you use at any given time can be different to the one that you last used and a change in IP address can require logging in again.

Re: Frequent login request
After having a problem with an IP address indicating to Cunard that I was in the US and thus only showing me prices in USD, I now have a static IP address, so that's not the reason for me.david63 wrote: 29 Dec 2021, 11:35Accessing any site from a mobile device can require frequent logins due to the fact that most mobile networks use a range of IP addresses and the one that you use at any given time can be different to the one that you last used and a change in IP address can require logging in again.

Re: Frequent login request
It is my belief that for those of us utilising a fibre optic link the IP can change every time the system is powered up / re-booted etc, that is certainly the case for me.

Re: Frequent login request
No problem on the speed side for me. Just the occasional request to login.
