Re: Grand National 2023
He's pushing his luck.
I'll be interested to see how his racing tips work out but the bookies won't be getting rich out of me. However I, along with millions of other monarchists will be watching.
Sad to think some of those beautiful creatures won't be going home.

I'm confused now. Did your last two sentences refer to the Coronation or the National? If the former who are you expecting to fall over, break a leg and get shot by the doctors?

Come to think about it I could be thinking about the Coronation and referring in my last sentence to the protesters.
It's multiple choice.

Re: Grand National 2023
Whilst I accept one horse fatality is one to many, no equine sport is without horse fatalities, however, since the national fences were modified in 2013 there have been very few fatalities. What people need to realise is that when a horse gets injured (in whatever activity they are partaking) there are no easy fixes as would be the case in such animals as cats and dog…a small facture in a dog can be fixed but with a horse the problems with recovery is often outweighed by the distress a horse would have to go through during a long recovery period, which in the case of a horse fracture would require the horse being confined to its stable for months whilst being strapped up in a harness... in most cases.oldbluefox wrote: 12 Apr 2023, 10:49He's pushing his luck.

As with all equine sports they are bred for a purpose (bit like Prince William) so all the naysayers should bear this in mind.
Tomorrow see’s the start of the three-day Aintree festival with the National fences being used for the 4.05 race, however the highlight of tomorrows racing will be the appearance of “Constitution Hill” (3.30) a potential super star which will have millions tuning in to watch what we all hope will be another scintillating performance.
Let me know your fancy for the National as I will have a couple of quid on it… then when we eventually meet we can celebrate together or you can buy the drinks.

He showed his placard to Meghan. That's why she fled abroad.
