Grand National 2023

Unread post by Onelife »

Good morning punters, it’s now 5 days until the Grand National so as always, your favourite tipster is here to steer you in the right direction.

This link will give you a good insight as to where you should place your pin…

https://www.grandnational.org.uk/grand- ... unners.php

I’ve already speculated £20 on a couple of horses so with no more to do this is where my money has gone.

“Darasso” 66/1… novice over jumps, but if he can stay standing, he has a touch of class…£10 win £5 place

“Corach Rambler” 13/2 well weighted (10 lbs well in at the weights) will need luck in running due to his style of racing - coming from off the pace…£5 win

Dangers aplenty

“Galvin” 20/1 Big weight but shouldn’t be far away.

“Capodanno” 25/1 has the right credentials for a race such as this.

“Le Milos” 20/1 has serious claims also.

Good luck.

So how many horses will be injured this year? - time this was abolished, in my opinion.

£20 would pay your share of our wonderful Monarchy for about 14 years. Think of the pleasure compared to a few minutes of torture.

Hi David, tragically some don’t return to their stables but they are breed to do what they are breed to do.... which is race.

With respect if we took your stance on equine sports horses would never have evolved into the magnificent animals they are today. In fact if they were left to evolve naturally they would hardly have grown tall enough to reach your knee cap let alone give millions the pleasure of sitting on one.

They are breed for a purpose as are the animals we eat, some end up in racing stables where they are raced, loved and cared for until such time that they can no longer race...others end up on dinner tables, some in tins to feed our pets...if I was a horse and given the choice of taking my chances over a few fences for 2 hours of my life ... or go straight to the abattoir.... I know which I would choose.

I along with the 500 millon viewers who watched this great sporting occasion will no doubt be watching this great race for many years to come....can't wait!!
If you would like to make further comments may I suggest you address it to the King as he owns 40 of them.

That is fine until they are made to jump over fences with another 20 or so at the same time causing them to be injured, or worse.

I stand to be corrected but I thought that the "royal" horses only did flat racing.

Is Red Rum in it this year? Beecher's Brook and the Chair should be dismantled and never seen again. Actually this annual charade of animal cruelty should be binned full stop.

You’re clearly living in the past Paul, Beecher’s and the Chair were modified several years ago and the legend which was Red Rum is buried at Aintree’s winning post… such was the respect that racing enthusiasts around the world afforded him.

I put jump racing in the same category as fox hunting and bull fighting.
The forced participants may survive but equally, there is a reasonable chance that they won’t.

I think you will find that the figures you present are for UK viewing figures Foxy ….the way things are going you’ll soon get a reputation of being a bigger bull-shiter than me
