Did anybody else see the delirious Eddie Izzard leading the Remain demonstration yesterday. Some people have too much time on their hands to express their neurotic fanaticism. Personally I am getting fed up being told what I should and should not do by left wing so-called celebrities like Izzard, Geldof, Redgrave & Co.
I did - but after watching him on a debate pre EU referendum debate again dressed in his pink beret am not surprised at his behaviour which on that occasion was disgusting.

Oh! bring back the days when I could fill my tank up on my motorbike and ride to Skeggy for the day, have a couple of pints in the 'Ship' and fish and chips on the seafront and still have change from a ten bob note.

And we would stop at the 'Half Way' on the way back Alan, not bad for appx. 50p in todays money eh ?.

Mind you I would have to stop in for the rest of the week because 10 shillings was a lot out of my wages then.

Isn't it amazing how we still think ten shillings sounds like a lot of money, but 50p is now just small change?

The reality is that P&O's new ship is being built in Germany. Now what does that say about Brexit? - nothing as it is the Americans who placed the order

Did I hear Mark Carney correct today? He seemed to be suggesting that the reason the UK economy did not go into recession is due to the actions he took to try to counteract the recession, a recession he had predicted.
I wonder what he would be saying if the economy had gone into recession, "I told you so", sort of a win win situation for him.

Why whenever I see or hear Mark Carney do I hear the words "two faced" in my head?

Me too. The sooner he goes back home the better for me. That'll be a useful cut to net migration!

The pro EU lobby are attempting to hijack the Last Night of the Proms and wave EU flags as opposed to the Union flag.

I hope they are drowned out by all right thinking people.

The BEEB will love it.

Another version of the story I saw said it was Brexit planning to celebrate at the event! Who knows? Perhaps there'll be a Proms punch up?

Sir Nicholas, writing in The Guardian, says it all really.

Linky linky https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/ ... -the-proms

The Guardian still don't accept the vote and are constantly calling for a re-run.

Ironically, since the world hasn't ended after June 23rd, the Leave majority would probably be bigger now.

But ... not according to them.

It was a vote won on lies.

Given the Grauniad's propensity for smelling pistakes, they probably meant it was a vote won on isles (the British Isles)...

And of course the Remainers told no lies. Such as a budget putting up taxes, rising interest rates?

However since the margin was so small, we 'Remainers' are still entitled to campaign as much as we like. That's what democracy is about. Especially since we Europhiles had to put up with years of Tory nutters and Farageists wingeing about the EU.

i can tell you now, that no amount of name calling or put downs will prevent me from expressing my pro EU feelings. When I see Farage on a platform with Donald Trump it is QED as far as I am concerned.

I have said this before but it seems I must say it again.

If the vote had gone the other way, with the same small margin, and those voting leave demanded a second referendum, would you have countenanced it or would you have told them to accept the democratic decision?

I do believe that Guardian readers and other left leaning voters, consider that a democratic vote is only valid if it is in their favour.

I admire you for standing your ground Frank.

You are wrong, but it's admirable anyway. :shh:

The EU is now in such as state and that's even before we have withdrawn our budget contributions.

Imagine in a few years time when they are trying to make up our £50 billion a year.

It's a money pit with little benefit to successful progressive economies.

Eastern Europe has been decimated by the brain drain of young migrants into the West.
It has put them back at least five years and they may never fully recover.
Maybe, just maybe, after the UK has left the EU, some will decide to return and help build their own countries.
Then they will not need the huge subsidies that they now draw from the EU.
They could even eventually become net contributors and help the next batch of joining countries, like Albania.

Whatever, I'm glad that I will no longer be paying for it.
