I have supported Boris since I saw him at the hustings but I think yesterday was the day he threw away the election
I cannot bear to think of the consequences for this country on Friday

I tend to agree with you John.

After yesterday's fiasco with that reporter, mobile phone and the young lad involved I'm beginning to have my doubts about Boris.

Johnson`s true colours exposed just before the election.
He simply cannot think on his feet and it was a car crash interview.
Mrs B thinks that may be a turning point.

Odds @Coral are now

Overall Tory control 2/7
No overall majority 3/1
Labour majority 25/1

I would add on yesterday's story that situations like that relate to two things. Shortages of beds in hospitals and the holes in Primary Care. The second is a direct result of the new GP contract negotiated by Labour. The first, in the case of our local major acute hospital, was a direct decision taken by the last Labour government to reduce the number of beds by 20% when it was rebuilt under a PFI scheme on their watch. And they now blame the Tories.

Just in case you fancy a flutter.....

Conservative majority......4/11

No overall majority. .....4/1

Labour majority.......33/1

£1,100 to win £400...if you believe what the polls are predicting then even at theses punitive odds there is money to be made......Unfortunately if my wife sees £1,100 disappear from our account l'll be roast turkey for Christmas.

Vote Boris

I'm no gambler, except a couple of quid on the lottery each week, and maybe I am misinterpreting you post. So let me get this right. You spend £1,100 to win £400. Where did you get these figures from Keith, Diane Abbott. :D
Don't forget you do get your stake back as well Stephen.

Fair point Merv. But even if they couldn't have found him a bed straight away surely in the short term they could have found a trolley for him.

From what I have read, and I know not how true it is, it was his mother that made the "makeshift" bed on the floor for him and took the photo and sent it to the press.

What a load of tosh......next we'll be hearing open heart surgery has taken place on a hospital floors.....

The photo of the child on the floor will ultimately be shown to be fake/ staged....even if it isn't Boris should have the registration of those doctor's/nurses responsible taken away as they are ultimately responsible for patient care......Oh!.....and if it is proved to be staged the person who exploited their child for propaganda purposes should be prosecuted for child abuse.

yup - a senior nurse posted last night that the child was removed from his trolley, dumped on the floor, photographed and then popped back again

…. and the offending account has been deleted thus preventing any comeback on what was clearly a stage managed politically motivated event.

Seems the Shadow Minister of Health has been involved in a ' sting ' about declaring his views on Jezza.

It's a dirty business officer :wtf:

The offenders in all these electioneering disputes as to whether they are real, faked, accurate or false is, IMO, down to the frenzied reporting on TV. They constantly highlight issues, from all parties, and disect them with such forensic analysis, and try to build up the story, not in pursuit of the facts or truth, but solely for their own ratings.
Maybe we should go back to the old news reader style of news broadcasts during election campaigns, with no signs of any personal bias from reporters. Or am I just too sensitive.

Again not wishing to judge but according to quotes seen today his family are requesting privacy and don't want him to be a poltical football. Doesn't quite fit with taking his photo and sending to the press. Also according to reports today chairs were available.

My husband and I were talking about the "photo" this morning and thought it was false as when looking at the photo you could see the wheels of a trolley beside him. Also the posing of his arm to try and hide his face didn't seem natural. In a worst case scenario we thought one of the parents may have been asked to hold him on their lap so they could start the drip. In any case if it was true surely the parents would have been shouting/complaining to the staff or admin of the hospital as it would have been the result of incompetence or lack of care by nurses or doctors. I can't believe any nurse or doctor would allow this to happen.
I notice that Labour have been very quiet about this after the initial report. It certainly won't effect my vote as in my opinion the alternative would be horrendous.

I had already said to the missus that that's got to be set up as it is so close to the election. Dirty tactics by the press. Expect more, getting more like America every day.

I've now seen the post by the staff member at the hospital. If that is accurate it is apparently a complete set up like the time Corbyn refused the seat he was offered and got himself photographed sitting on the floor of the train.

Boris didn't handle it well. He should have accepted the photo, but declined to comment until he'd spoken to the parents personally. He'd have got a pat on the back and the egg would have been entirely on the conspirators faces when the story emerged.

But right now the police should be called to investigate a possible case of child abuse and if the parents were indeed responsible or complicit they should be arrested and the child should be taken into care.

Surprise, surprise, the baby asleep on the chair was a setup as well. Looks like the left and their supporters will go to any lengths to get Jeremy into No10. God forbid!!!
"Countess of Chester Hospital CEO: "When Lily and her parents visited the Countess of Chester last week they were triaged within 10 minutes by a nurse, who assessed Lily’s condition as not being an emergency. "Lily was then seen by an ED doctor in under three and a half hours and further assessed by a paediatrician within a further two hours who confirmed that she was well enough to return home without further treatment. Had Lily required admission, a bed would have been allocated to her in a timely manner."

And now there are counter claims that the post by a staff member is a fake. Hard to know who to believe.

What feels wrong for me remains the parents claimed desire for privacy and not wishing their child to be a political football, despite having.started that ball rolling themselves by sending the picture to a newspaper. That's not the action of someone wanting privacy on the last week of an election campaign.
