In spite of repeated instructions I have just had to go out in the cold and lop off the 4 foot icicles on my own, what happened ' To love and obey ... etc ' is what I want to know ?

Just been watching a recorded video loop on the BBC News website.

There's some footage of a main road into Huddersfield, and I passed the camera whilst it was filming the traffic. No sign of me on the video...perhaps I shouldn't have leaned out of the window and waved at the camera with both hands?

There was a raft of Huddersfield type footage on our Breakfast News this morning, the reporter kept harping on about how bad it was and I even started to feel sorry for poor old Romig.

Then I noticed on the left hand side of screen that there was a car without a spot of snow on it, a huge con I reckon pending a ' help the needy ' collection appeal.

ps ... and not a single icicle in sight

I haven't been to work since last Monday because of the weather! Mind you, it is up a single track road in the Black Mountains and it only needs a bit of frost to make the road an ice rink!

Glad we've got this new forum to help pass the time - much more interesting than housework :D

I can't believe how much there was especially as we'd cleared it once over the weekend, the drive comes down the side & round the back of the house to the garage so there's quite a lot to do .... I haven't even touched the patio at the back :!:

We cleared it on Friday and it had all but melted yesterday. Woke up this morning and it was worse than Friday  DD's only done the bit where we park the cars, the rest can wait until it thaws :)

That's why I had to do it all Debbie, R parks his car in the garage which is round the back of the house ... mine is parked next to the garage :(

How inconsiderate of him! Doesn't he know that garages are for housing freezers, tumble driers and 'man junk'?

Ours has got all that in as well Debs ;) when we bought the house it was described as a double garage but I think you'd struggle to get two cars in ... but it's great for fitting everything else in as well as R's car :D

Well, I can report that Wina has done a grand job......

....bit disappointed that the patio hasn't been done though! :(

Some extra "training" is required perhaps?

I am concerned that Wina has a pain in her shoulder, perhaps her shovel action is a bit out of kilter ?

Give it time Romig. :)

We've had snow falling all day but it's that wet slushy stuff so there's little or nothing on the ground. At least we don't have to clear the drive.

No further snow worth worrying about here but what we had has remained. Untreated paths are an ice rink today and everyone has been walking down the roads as it is much safer to take your chance of being hit by a car, how bad is that.

More snow forecast for tomorrow so we shall see

We haven't had any more today in fact it's lovely & sunny at the moment, I'm hoping it might melt a little :)

I've just been out to knock some huge icicles (2 foot long ) from the guttering on the garage, didn't want R to get speared when he came home from work ;)
