Please drive safely

Unread post by Onelife »

My wife turned to me the other night and suggested we put one of those car safety hammers (glass breakers) in each of our cars…sensible, I thought, so doing a bit of reading around the subject I came across this snippet of information which could be a life saver while waiting for our Amazon delivery.

“You may be interested to know that there is one thing that every vehicle has in it that can be used to reliably break a side window, and that is the male metal seat belt clip. With the seat belt pulled out as far as possible, and the metal clip grasped in your fist, if you strike the side window low and at the front of the window, it will break the window virtually every time on the first or second try. It does that because the force is concentrated with a hard object in a small area of the window known to be its weakest point. Our instructions make a point of including this means of breaking a window as one of the steps to be followed in all vehicle escape situations”.

No, but I do know that picking up leaves from a gravel drive (with a mower) can do the same thing.

I done similar thing several years ago. Cutting the back grass a stone flicked up straight onto the glass panel of the French doors.

I'll make a note not to engage you two to do my garden.
Keith, a window breaker in the car, life saver.

My wife doesn’t like driving near cliff edges so I think we can give that one a miss. :)

On the matter of who got invites I think I got mine because I dropped them an email saying you were out of the country. :D

More likely they just needed someone to make the numbers up.

That’s how I got mine :)

They seem to be a bit more picky with the ship launches of late. I would say that was a lesson learnt. 😂

Nicole Scherzinger or Stephen.

Tough choice.
