Log in issues
Hi Everyone,
I'm having issues logging in using my tablet. Obviously I'm using my phone at the moment. I've tried logging out first on my phone before attempting to re-enter on my tablet. The site isn't recognizing either my username or password.
Help!

Update,
I've successfully logged in on my desktop. It's the cookies that I haven't accepted on my tablet. I didn't see the text box at the bottom of the page. Derrr!

Re: Log in issues
Try clearing your tablet’s browser cache and cookies and make sure it’s not auto-filling an old username or password. If that doesn’t work, try a different browser or reset your password. If it still won’t let you in, a forum admin might need to check your account.The-Sev wrote: 15 May 2025, 17:35Hi Everyone,

Re: Log in issues
I'm often asked to log in when I visit, not a problem. Lately I've filled in the Log in with name and password then told that it's invalid. Second time I do it I get in. Today I had to log in but didn't have to do it a second time.

It takes you two attempts because the first go is where they check the obituary lists first

Re: Log in issues
It goes in random runs for me. Days getting in with no problem and then suddenly a run of having to log in every time,, without me going anything different.

Re: Log in issues
Same problem this morning. Asked to log in, which I did, then told I had used an incorrect user name, I hadn't. So logged in again with the same user name and got in.

after an attempted scam a month ago I had to get in a computer expert to sort out computer during the conversation he told me it was because of old technology on the site not picking up the information quickly enough and the second attempt would be be quicker

Re: Log in issues
I wish "experts" actually knew what they are talking about - the "technology" on this site is about as up to date as it can be and significantly more up to date than many other sites. It is probably more to do with what they are used to working with, and possibly prejudices around certain platforms.poole boy wrote: 22 Jan 2026, 11:04after an attempted scam a month ago I had to get in a computer expert to sort out computer during the conversation he told me it was because of old technology on the site not picking up the information quickly enough and the second attempt would be be quicker

After David’s wise words I got in first time today. Clearly a good swipe with a hammer has done the trick!!

Re: Log in issues
The site is getting worse for login requests. I am now being asked at least twice a day to login. It’s getting ridiculous.
As for the ‘keep me logged in’ option, it might as well be removed for all the good it is.

Re: Log in issues
I have no idea why that is happening to you. Nothing has changed on the site for the last few months and I cannot remember the last time I was asked to login.Stephen wrote: 31 Jan 2026, 15:21The site is getting worse for login requests. Are you using the same device/browser all the time?

Re: Log in issues
If you are using mobile data as opposed to wi-fi then that is possible as mobile networks are constantly changing the IP address of your phone which will quite often require you to login.

Re: Log in issues
Thanks for the suggestion David. I have switched off mobile data so we’ll see what happens. TBH I get 12Gb of data a month but hardly ever use it. Basically that’s because I don’t know how but it will come in handy if I find out
