Dickie Bird.
Sad day for lovers of cricket as the death is announced of Dickie Bird.
A top umpire and Yorkshire man, he had the respect of everyone he met and admiration of those looking on.
RIP Dickie.

Certainly one of cricket's characters - test matches were never the same after he retired.

One of life's true gentlemen. He always had a good story to tell.
I was taught to be cautious

An instinctively recognisable voice and a man of his sport…92 not out…his memories live on.
