Windows 10
Anyone using Windows 10 and what are you thoughts.
I'm currently using Windows 7 but am thinking of upgrading to 10 especially as i got it free on a USB drive from the computer shop. It was a perk for buying a new hard drive. My system can't handle windows 11 so that's out of the equation. It would also allow me to have more choice of email client which my current system is struggling to use.

If everything you use a computer for is ordinary apps - microsoft office and a browser then consider switching to Linux - Libra office does most of what microsoft office does and Firefox brower comes built in.
Thunderbird is the email app.
There are several Linux flavours but popular ones are Ubuntu and Mint.

I like windows 10 ---BUT it is no longer supported ( or shortly won't be)
I was hanging on for 12 or whatever will be next since my system won't accept 11either. I was able to get an extra year's support free.

Our old computer windows 7 had a problem, and so we went for a new one.
All singing and dancing with windows 11.
The old one was easy to navigate around, but this one I have no idea of most of the things it can do, and so I muddle through and haven't a clue.

I’d be the same Ray.
Windows 7 is so easy and familiar to navigate but it’s just struggling to operate allot of the software.
I remember when Windows 10 first came out and you could download and install it for free to try it out, and if you didn’t like it could revert back to 7. I did this and immediately thought what the hell is this as it looked completely alien to me, and went straight back to 7.
But I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and install it and go on a learning curve. Being a free software option helps.
Years ago it wouldn’t have bothered me too much but now I can’t be ar*ed.

Re: Windows 10
I agree with the navigation on Windows 10/11 compared to Windows 7 but there are ways around this. I have been using a program called Start11 (it was originally Start10) for years as it makes navigation virtually the same as Windows 7 - OK it costs (currently) $15 but that is for life including all updates. There are probably other options available but not sure if there are any free ones.

Re: Windows 10
I'm on Windows 10 and have the one year extension. My PC won't support 11 and realistically is getting on a bit. So I'll probably buy a new PC with 11 in the next 12 months so I can transfer all my data across before the old one packs up. My printer is on its last legs too.
I'll post a link to my Gofundme page later.

I’m in the same boat, although the printer is fairly new.
Shall we do a joint funding page. I’m happy to look after the money in my Cayman Island account.

To those of you who have decided to buy a new windows 11 PC - when it's up and running try putting Ubuntu Linux on the old one - you never know, you might end up liking it!
