John Virgo dies
He use to annoy me at times with his constant talking over matches but was a character of the game and done some great impressions of one or two players from the past such as Ray Reardon.

He made the fundamental mistake of chasing his losses and borrowed to do so.
Nice character but a fool to himself.
He should have followed my tips

The moral of the story is to only gamble what you’re willing to lose…btw, I’m down to my last tenner, any chance of helping a mate out?oldbluefox wrote: 05 Feb 2026, 08:34Likely he probably wasOnelife wrote: 04 Feb 2026, 16:41He made the fundamental mistake of chasing his losses and borrowed to do so.

My x next door neighbour died of a ruptured aorta…he was playing golf in the morning, operated in the afternoon but sadly died on the table.

I had a big operation to fix a very dodgy aorta and heart valve at the same time.

My dad died of a ruptured aorta- here one minute laughing and joking and gone the next. Quick as that.
I think we ought to have a ‘Be nice to Merv’ week at his gaff in Funchal flights sponsored by OL.That’s the proposition. Those for? Against if any. Carried

Are bolt coppers allowed on the plane. You know what Merv’s like with his drinks cabinet.
I assume we’ll be travelling club class.

Not so sure I can stretch to flights but I do know where I can get my hands on a second hand dinghy…it wont come with an outboard motor so don’t forget your paddles…Oh’ and you might think about taking a two month supply of fresh water.oldbluefox wrote: 05 Feb 2026, 16:43My dad died of a ruptured aorta- here one minute laughing and joking and gone the next.
