Reporting access problem
Hi David
I have been chatting with Merv via WhatsApp as he and Foxy are unable to access the forum for some reason.
I had a problem first thing this morning but all is ok now. Wonder if you can offer any advice that i can relay back to them. Thanks

Re: Reporting access problem
Merv has reported that he has just managed to gain access but it is extremely slow. Not an issue myself. Probably caused by a leaf on the line

Re: Reporting access problem
I had a snotty message at my first attempt this morning. After refreshing the page - I got the log in page - so had to remember my user name and password - no mean feat!
It's slow - but not appreciably slower than usual

If anyone can fix it David can…but he must be pulling his hair out trying to sort it out…keep at it David we are right behind you.
I'm having to sign in twice but other than that everything is as it should be.

Re: Reporting access problem
What problems are they having? I cannot see anything in the logs.
I have just put in "fix" to see if that improves things as I have no idea what the actual problem is.
As for slow - another bot attack - now stopped.

Re: Reporting access problem
I think I know what's happened. It might have been David's birthday and Merv and Foxy tried to palm David off with Onelifes salmonella chocolates so David pulled the plug on them.

Re: Reporting access problem
David.
Merv has just come back saying the following:
In my case the site doesn't load before it times out. I get a message saying the site can't be reached. I got in once this morning but then was very slow and threw me out again before another page loaded.
Just tried again. Still the same.

Re: Reporting access problem
Can you ask Merv to try again - I have just changed a setting which may solve the problem.
If he cannot access then can he give the exact error message and is it a browser error or a forum error.

I notice that CC have now introduced an occasional check to verify you're not a robot, specifically to avoid attacks by Bots.

Re: Reporting access problem
David.
Message from Merv.
The message says
"This site can’t be reached
The web page at https://www.cruise-community.me.uk/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
I've tried two different browsers, the Android phone's default and Chrome. I've done all the usual cache clearing stuff. I've rebooted the phone. I've used the WiFi where I'm staying, which is fast enough to stream TV and I've tried mobile data. I've tried the site's homepage and a bookmark I have directly to the login page. Whatever I try I get a long wait then the same message. I've no problem accessing anything else on the Internet. And Foxy has the same problem on his phone and his PC. I reckon we've been barred as trouble makers!

Re: Reporting access problem
Hi David, having had no problem accessing the site this morning, apart from having to log in twice I’m now not so sure the problem has been fully resolved. I tried to get on to the forum about an hour ago and it kept pulling up the “try submitting again message”. As you can see I’m on again now but it does appear to be an intermittent problem.
