Biggest Disapointments
Tobogganing in Funchal
Gondola in Venice
Reid's for tea again Funchal
These three head my very short list of holiday disappointing moments
. . . . and it has nothing to do with the extortionate costs
Fellow shipmates - what did not do it for you ?

Re: Biggest Disapointments
I loved the toboggans in Funchal! Biggest disappointment for me was Antigua as we were only allowed half an hour at Nelson's Dockyard and 2 minutes at Shirley Heights. Do NOT go with John's taxis in Antigua!

Wow, big fella!
we loved the toboggan in Funchal
I don't know if our drivers were on acid or something, but it was a brilliant and scary ride, including two 360's.
Just too short
If it hadn't been so dear, I'd have gone straight back. Loved it !

Re: Biggest Disapointments
Arriving in Malta on Arcadia for an afternoon visit ( already too short....) to find we couldn't get to our berth on time cos there'd been a fire in port..... then we were parked on the other side of the port and had to be tendered across...
the port authorities insisted on using their craft of which there weren't enough- so it was gone 3 pm by the time managed to get to the front of the queue. we only had time to explore the dock area - never made it into town.

You must be hard to please, Mr BFG - we really enjoyed all three of these.gfwgfw wrote:Tobogganing in Funchal

Never really had a major diappoitnment with the attractions in any of the ports we have visited, except perhaps Vigo which, for us, is a disappointment in itself. Biggest downer must be missing ports we were really looking forward to - expecially Ponta Delgada last New Year

Cubie, we were lucky enough to get into Ponta Delgada in February and it is a lovely place. We had a great day there.

Hi gfw
My biggest disappointment was not catching the Bast**d who nicked my wallet in Venice... if I had, I’d have got my wife to punch his bloody lights out...squeak! Squeak!
Most of my other disappointments revolve around not having enough time in cruise destinations we’ve visited.
Regards
Keith

Thanks, but please don't trouble yourself. We are due to go to Madeira for the fireworks for the first time this New Year but with our luck we will be fog-bound !

Our best surprise was the Azores - simply unexpectantly beautiful
We bathed sans clothes in the hot springs up in them there hills
My rather larger proportions than most

Enjoy qb. We've done that one and it was truly spectacular. If P&O get their usual best berth in the port you won't be disappointed. And they're so bright it'll take an awful of fog to spoil the party.

The lakes were beautiful Cubie and we had a great horse and carriage ride, then went for a nice lunch in a little cafe that had the footie on and to make a great day perfect we saw Chelsea get beaten 3 -2 by Newcastle
Ah, you'd have loved it there.
