We need our own pits!!!!!

On the basis that coal is a finite resource then it will run out one day anyway - but aren't steam engines supposed to be environmentally unfriendly?

What do persons suffering from either ED or PPH have to do with coal shortage or railway locomotives?

If all the heritage steam train societies got together they could buy their own pit. They have the ideal method of transporting it to their works. ;)

It should be noted that the Labour government under Harold Wilson closed 272 British cola mines where as the Tory government under Thatcher closed 154.

The same applies to the amount of coal mines closed by Wilson.

Plenty of cheaper coal imports to supplement our own. I think steam trains will be running for a long time to come.
