Pet Hates

Unread post by ChesterfieldJohn »

Hi,

Does anyone have any pet hates that they can discuss on here of course :D

Mine is people who refer to themselves in the third person, why?

The tendency to refer to oneself in the third person is often viewed by psychologists as a symptom of narcissism. In order to learn how to effectively refer to yourself in the third person, it is often desirable to understand the narcissist mentality, and develop an ability to "role-play" as an actual narcissist. Needless to say, the comedic potential of having this ability cannot be overestimated, but there is also danger, in that you may inadvertently develop strong narcissistic tendencies in yourself without realizing it.

Also just a little query, when on a cruise why do people feel that they have to take books, kindles etc to a show?

Cant they talk to the person they are with for such a short while?

Is the art of conversation between partners a lost art?

People who book a window seat on an aircraft and then pull down the blind for the entire flight. Tilt their seat back and fail to reposition it when the cockpit announcement is made just before landing or during meal servings

People who are tribal and entirely entrenched into a political party.

Compulsive moaners.

Obsessive football fans.

Caviar.

Why do people feel the need to wander down the street either with their ear glued to a mobile or, even worse, texting and totally oblivious to everything and everyone around them ? What is so important that it can't wait until they get home, to the office, or even sit on a park bench ?!

I travel a lot by local buses.

I hate people who get on and proceed to eat smelly food particularly beef burgers with onions etc.
This happens a lot on our buses even though there is a polite notice asking people not to do so.

food and wine bores

oh yes it is an exquisite grape from the far side of the andes, grown by trained monkeys and pressed by a LLamas a*se

this particular steak is from a cow that is dripped in gold and eats only truffles and sea urchins and is dried by the perfumed farts of vestal virgins

get over your self

I don't like people who mess me about or let me down. Is that just 'being human'?

Also I don't like selfish people.

Sorry,

Em ;)

An example as requested.

'One felt terrible when ones post had to be edited'

Should of course be
'I felt terrible when my post had to be edited'

Oh, thanks for that John. Fortunately I don't believe I have ever encountered anyone who spoke like that, except possibly in jest.
