The White Queen
Just seen this advertised on tv started 16th June. I think I've found what I want for the audiobook for my holidays. I'll record it on tv and watch when I get back from the cruise and compare to the book.
It's about Elizabeth Woodville and is part of a trilogy by Philippa Gregory. Might be able to reserve it at the library if I'mlucky.

I've just bought this. I loved her books on the Tudors so I'm expecting great things!

I am not a huge fan of Ms Gregory - just don't like her style of writing. However, I am obliged to her for kindling in my daughter an interest in all things Tudor - and I borrowed this particular book last year.
For those who haven't yet read it (or seen the tv programme), I won't make any comment - enjoy it.

Re: The White Queen
I have mixed opinions about Phillipa Gregory books. My favourite Is' The Other Boleyn Girl' which both myself and my daughter loved but when it was adapted to television it was disappointing to us as it wasn't true to the book.
Her books that I don't like are the ones that she writes in the first person { ' I ' books we call them }. I really cant get into those.

Hi Anne,
I just don't like the proliferation of short paragraphs - and equally the same applies to chapters.

I must admit I've never read one of her books before, we do have The Bolyn Girl somewhere but it's my daughters and I've never felt like reading it, I might if I enjoy the White Queen. I've always been a Tudor fan but recently have been taking an interest in the wars of the roses. It's so complicated it it satisfies my other passion of family history.

Re: The White Queen
I have read this trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am really looking forward to watching this on the "little screen" (if I am allowed) (must remember to let the OH watch all his sport Saturday and Sunday, then perhaps I can). The books were really good and they were the first ones I had read of Ms Gregory. Roll on Sunday night, a nice glass of wine - or 2 - etc and settle down for a good programme!!
