What's the strangest thing you brought back from a holiday?
People do tend to bring silly things back from holiday, such as bottles of glow in the dark booze, that they never drink again, straw donkeys and tee shirts etc, all pretty normal.
But what is the strangest or oddest thing you have ever brought back from a holiday?
Mine is a bottle of water from the river Styx in Greece, can anyone do better?

Not me ( but my husband ) brought back a large piece of rock from the Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska
it's still kicking around in the garage somewhere I think, needless to say it was in the days before luggage restrictions were so stringent but I seem to remember they did put "heavy" labels on the case at the airport.

A grubby plastic Teletubby (given to me by a child in a Sri Lankan refugee camp, following the Boxing Day Tsunami).

An excellent sweeping brush - as used by the hotel maids - from Krabi, in Thailand.

It's not from a holiday but my husband retrieved a piece of the "Get Carter" car park when they were demolishing it. He made a stand for it and has it on display on the sitting room window sill

Hi Darknightie,
Not exactly strange but we often come back with soap, shower gel, towels, pillow cases, loo rolls, silver cutlery (if we’re doing posh) indeed anything that will fit inside our daughter suitcase.
Oh yeah! and if Robbie wants his salt and pepper pots back he'll have to come and get them?
Other than that I did come back with a piece of drift wood which had moulded it’s self into the shape of a dolphin...it now hangs on the inside of our front door.
Regards
Keith

QB
There’s only so much you can cram into a child’s suitcase so we ditched the biscuits for handfuls of tomato ketchup sachets...

A baby ostrich
We were at the Highgate Ostrich Farm nr Oudtshoorn in South Africa and at that time you were allowed to buy a genuine ' stuffed ' baby one who had not survived. A little feller compared to daddy but perfect in every detail.
We gave it to our neighbour for looking after our house while we were away ... fortunately they loved it and still have it to this day.

I regularly fetch home lumps of rock/lava etc from my travels...as well as the occasional sea-shell/coral (but don't tell anybody about that)Dancing Queen wrote:Not me ( but my husband ) brought back a large piece of rock from the Mendenhall Glacier in Alaskait's still kicking around in the garage somewhere I think, needless to say it was in the days before luggage restrictions were so stringent but I seem to remember they did put "heavy" labels on the case at the airport.
