SO YOU THINK YOU ARE SPECIAL....

Unread post by Admiral of the Humber »

Dear Forumeers,

Like a number of you I find a little folder in my cabin containing vouchers for free Sailaway Champagne.

I used to think I was part of a relatively select and relatively small group.

Wrong. At the printers I work for we are currently working on an order for 48,000 of the aforementioned folders.

Ah well...my Mother thinks I'm special.

Probably accurately reflects the number of Atlantic Tier and upwards passengers who will cruise in a year(including those who go on more than one cruise a year) 7n and over I think(?)

I enjoyed the P&O House Champagne Jacquart as part of the freebie (twice) on Ventura last year.

About £22 in the UK retail.

Some innocent questions...

Are the vouchers numbered?
What happens if you print a few extra? ;)

P&O told me I was special today when they sent me an e-mail promoting 2015 World Cruises :D

Actually I would have been more impressed if they had asked why I haven't cruised with them since 2010

I don't like champagne myself, so I gave my voucher to my daughter and she is a bit of an expert where champagne is concerned ( she drinks a lot of it !) she said it was a reasonable drink.

I like Jacquart champagne - recently reduced in price at my local Majestic wine merchants at £17. I find it an admirable substitute for Moet. I have to wonder about P&O, who banned me from their forum, yet still send me leaflets and brochures.

On our last few cruises we have given our half bottles of Lanson away.
IMHO opinion champagne is just for posers who like to quote the makers name and vintage. it tastes awful.

Mmmm, in your opinion but not all champagnes are the same. Having said that, my sister once got some vintage champagne to toast in the new Millennium - it tasted like cat wee - well that was the only thing we could say about it.

I have never tasted cat wee, what's it like?

If it's not cat wee and it's free, it's drinkable, IMHO.

A bit like ' elderflower presse ' I would suggest but perhaps it depends on the vintage

I've never tasted it either, but I'm told it does have a distinctive 'nose' to it.

I, personally, don't care for champagne. A nice glass of wine, don't mind if it is rose, white or red is much more preferable.

Sadly we don't print the vouchers QB, just the folders. I could do you a deal on beer vouchers for the Leeds Beer Festival though!!
