An MP with morals!

Unread post by ChesterfieldJohn »

Nice to see an MP doing what she believes is right.

A pity more of them cant do this instead of being in it for the money and power.

Not as moral as she would look at first glance ... she is happy to serve her full term under the LIbDem banner rather than resigning immediately ... they are all in it for the money.

It sounded to me more like "throwing her toys out of the pram".

The incident she was complaining about happened a while ago but she leaves until the week before the party conference to make the announcement - 2+2=5 in this case

Perhaps she decided to stay until the end of the term because she feared that the LIB Dems would lose that seat.

Has she said in the story she had to seriously think about what she was to do that's why she has not done it until now.

At least she had the bottle to stick to her beliefs.

Why should she fear the Lib Dems would lose the seat.

The Liberal Democrats have just won the Brent East by-election, taking one of Labour's safest seats with a huge 29% swing.

I believe that it was one of the ones affected by boundary changes and her majority was low, not certain though.

"An MP with morals".

Isn't that what the grammar buffs call an oxymoron?

The funny 'ole thing is the more I hear of what Clegg and Cameron are doing, leading the coalition, the more I think they are doing right for this country - certain issues excepted, where I will veer to either the more liberal/social view or the more 'rightist' view.

I am with ken on this one, the moral high ground would have been to leave immediately.

Might her decision have been affected by her losing her ministerial post in the last reshuffle, and its taken her this long to realise she's not going to get another.
