Dear Graham

Does your email software have a filtering mechanism? If it does, you may be able to set up a filter so that it automatically deletes emails with certain words in the subject or the body, or even from certain addresses.

Kind regards
Alan

Beware about "unsubscribing" from spam emails as you can actually end up with more. Some use as a means to validate your email address.

As for the Christmas problem without your "beloved" - HKPhooey is looking for somewhere to go for Christmas - just a thought

In such circumstances it may be an idea to change your e-mail address but remember to advise your friends and family of the change asap. Any business contacts of value will doubtless have a logon and an ability to amend your contact points therein.

Graham

Not knowing how your traditional christmas was spent with your beloved wife makes it difficult for us to advise you.

If you always went away on a cruise or out for a meal - perhaps you could still arrange this with your close family.

When I lost my mother a few years ago - who loved Christmas and the whole family went to stay - Dad was heartbroken and did not want to join in any festivities. We persuaded him to join us for lunch and then took him home shortly after - his choice - as he found it all a bit overwhelming.

Please do spend some of the day with friends or family.

Re Christmas Day.

Bolt the doors, take the phone off the hook, shut the curtains, get a log fire going and settle back with your ferrets a stack of nibbles, your favourite tipple and watch the box

Have you booked to see the Panto yet Graham? I reckon you could get to see at least three in this area.

Sue doesn't enjoy Christmas much, for similar reasons to yours. There will probably be a nice Christmas Carol concert at St Marks Talbot Village if the University Chamber Choir do their usual thing this year. If you are interested I'll send you details when I know via a PM.

Hello Frank

Aladdin at the Tiv this year, after a worrying start with ticket sales, sales are beginning to pick up

I have never been in the Talbot Village Church, but it looks very nice tucked in the wooded area on the busy Wallisdown Road

Do hope all is well with you and Sue

I remember Talbot Woods well - that's where I learned to burn tobacco. It's also where my father did his flashing....

Given the location, it doesn't look as though he was a lighthouse keeper..............................
