Should moderators lock topics at member’s requests?

Re: “Holiday Insurance thread”....I agree some of the posts have gone off topic but I’m at a loss as to why anyone would request that it be locked...?

I don’t think there are many topics’ that don’t go off topic sometime during the life of a thread, this thread was no different to any other as far as I am concerned.

Hi Onelife.

I guess if someone reports a thread (and/or requests it's locking) then the Mods have to assess the thread in light of the T&Cs of the forum. I would doubt a thread would be locked purely at the request of a member..

I am not sure why it was locked as MoB did the "locking" and there is no report about the topic - so we will need to wait until he next logs in.

Going from the comment in the topic I would guess that either the OP requested that the topic be locked and/or deleted or that another poster within the topic asked.
