Thompson-Morgan Garden Products
Don't ever buy from these people. You will wait forever for your order to arrive, and if you try and cancel, forget it. And customer service, that's a laugh, it is appalling.

Re: Thompson-Morgan Garden Products
We've used them quite a few times and never had a problem, I know sometimes you order and then get notification that a delivery date might be 5 or 6 weeks away, was that your problem Stephen ??
I also remember we ordered 3 of something which were quite expensive ( think it was some sort of twisted stem plants ) they were quite unusual, two were fine but the third was more or less dead on arrival, they sent another straight away, maybe you have just been unlucky.
TBH I prefer to go to the garden centre so you can see what you are buying, we've had the odd disappointment when something hasn't been quite what we were expecting.

Stephen - thanks for the advice.
Have to say though, we had trouble finding a rose with a certain name - all we could find was bare root stock which meant waiting until November, which wasn't any good.
However, I found a supplier in Essex and got the item delivered within about 2 days - and it's healthy and growing away nicely.

My problem DQ is we ordered some Fox Glove plants back in March which we new would take a few weeks to deliver but in the end I got fed of waiting and wanted to cancel the order. Trying to contact TM was near on impossible with no one ever answering the phone or replying to emails, I would have more chance of getting through to god.
To cut a long story short, by some miracle I managed to get through on two separate occasions and both people at TM said they would see what has happened and make sure to cancel the order and refund our credit card.....ho ho ho. That was two weeks ago and still it has not been credited back. Again I tried phoning and emailing, and yep you guessed it. Nil pwar response.
What really bugs me is, you are just kept hanging on the phone having to listen to some god awful music with the occasional automated apology that they've kept you waiting and that you are moving along the queue. All very well, but am I number 2 or 22 in the queue, while all the time I'm making BT another tidy sum.
Never again, I'd rather pay a bit extra at out local garden centre than use TM. I have also heard from two people that their plants don't arrive in very good condition either.

We've used them for quite a few years and have been happy, then last year was not good at all. Despite being able to get something a little different from them, I think we'll be sticking with local stores.

We are very lucky to have a couple of local nurseries, who we get most of our plants from.
We are all planted up for this year( last weekend) The rain, a little bit sunshine and miracle gro have brought all the plants on brilliantly. My baskets are hanging very nicely already. Sweet peas well established, lupins in full flower!!
This is only my second year growing roses , I do like the Davis Austin ones.
We bought some from Alnwick Gardens, to climb around our front door, they are in bud.

Thanks for the tip - and I must admit, this is my first rose ever in the garden! We tried David Austin roses - and would have had to wait until the end of the year, but this place in Essex had what we wanted, and so several family members ordered some too.
We have a family tradition - the parents of a new child nominate a flower (not the flower for the month) which is always linked with that particular child. So, a flower was nominated for our new granddaughter, and it's a rose - thank goodness we were able to find it.
We've never had a rose before, so it's time for reading up all about it and getting the correct food etc.

Re: Thompson-Morgan Garden Products
Hi Stephen,
I did see the Gertrude Jekyll one in a garden centre last week (it was a DA rose), but the one we bought was selected by our daughter and her husband. It's a lovely perfumed rose too - that's what I call a cross between a happy accident and great value for money.
I can do loads with lupins and hollyhocks, rock roses, heathers and rhodies - but roses ...... it's a learning curve for us.

Re: Thompson-Morgan Garden Products
At last, after several emails and telephone attempts the refund has finally appeared. It's only taken several weeks.
Need I say more about this apology for a company and their pathetic excuses
