Dress Covers ( Zipped Bags )

Unread post by Dancing Queen »

Can anyone recommend anywhere where I can buy 'dress covers', particularly ones suitable for long evening dresses ( not bridal dress covers, they are what I have and they are too bulky ) mine are beginning to look tatty and the local store I bought them from has closed down.

I don't want the thin see through plastic type, I've looked on ebay and amazon and there are loads but it's difficult to tell what they are like so I thought if anyone has bought any recently they might recommend.

Jo - if you have a Johnsons Dry Cleaning shop near you, it might be worth checking out what they sell as I bought some black material ones from them a few years ago and they seem quite good and aren't bulky.

Thanks Maureen, I didn't think we had a Johnsons Cleaners in Chesterfield but I've just googled and we do and even better if it's where I think it is there is parking outside

I will go and have a look tomorrow.

Thanks Jay never thought of there, I bought a couple of suit covers ( quite heavy duty ) from there a few years ago which have been excellent, we have a Store in Meadowhall, Sheffield so somewhere else worth checking out

Checked out Lakeland and they do indeed sell them, on offer at the moment 'buy one get one half price' so I have ordered 4 length 72" @ £5.99 and 4 length 60" @ £4.99 .. I think that is a pretty good price especially with 4 being at half price, they look just what I am looking for but if not it will be very easy for me to return to Sheffield.

Maureen, I will still check Johnsons out as I need more than 8, I ordered the minimum from Lakeland to get free postage.

Thanks to both you and Jay for your suggestions

Gill, I will let you know what the quality is like from the Lakeland ones when I receive them.

Quick update ...

I've received the dress covers this morning and whilst they are not exactly the type I was looking for they will do the job and considering the price I paid I think quite good value for money.
